As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I believe that prioritizing mental health is essential for achieving happiness and stability in life. Seeking help can often be challenging, so I want to compliment you for taking it! I have been practicing for over five years and have a proven track record of treating complex and severe mental disorders over the last decade. My experience includes working with patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, major depressive disorder (MDD), anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and addiction.
I’m deeply committed to providing nonjudgmental, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care. I understand that mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I take the time to listen, learn, and adapt to what works best for you.
I don’t expect perfection — I expect real people, with real experiences, showing up as they are. I bring not only clinical expertise but also lived understanding of how layered and complex healing can be. You’ll never have to shrink or code-switch in my care — your story, identity, and truth are all welcome here.
My name is Leilani and I’m a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I believe feeling heard is just as important as any treatment plan. My background in both primary care and mental health, along with my experience as a military veteran and spouse, helps me understand how stress, health, and life experiences are often deeply intertwined. I work with adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and big life transitions, and I take time to listen before offering guidance. My goal is to create a calm, supportive space where we can talk things through together and move forward in a way that feels manageable and right for you.

Hello! I am a nurse practitioner (NP) who is experienced in both Psychiatry and Primary Care. Before graduating with my MSN and Adult Primary Care NP program in 2015, I was a RN for 9 years in the hospital setting. While working in Psychiatry starting in 2022, I decided to pursue my Post-Master’s certification in Psychiatric Mental Health NP and graduated in April of 2024.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding psychiatrists in Erie starts with knowing whether you’re looking for medication support, talk therapy, or both. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication. Therapists provide talk therapy and support through skills-based or insight-based approaches. If you’re looking for care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, review each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, training, and care style to see whether their background matches your needs.
Erie is a smaller market, so nearby in-person psychiatry options may be limited by location, schedule, or availability. Virtual appointments can expand your options across Pennsylvania while still giving you access to licensed psychiatrists who can support medication management. These appointments are usually shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, though some psychiatrists also provide therapy. Some people work with both a therapist and a prescriber. Before booking, read psychiatrist bios to understand appointment structure, areas of focus, and whether a free phone consultation is available.
Psychiatric care in Erie can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to lower your session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you find psychiatrists who are accepting new patients and match your plan, preferences, and schedule. You can enter your insurance details, see estimated out-of-pocket costs, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
