With over 36 years in behavioral health, I've worked across inpatient, outpatient, corrections, education, and management settings — with children, adolescents, adults, and individuals navigating substance use and serious mental illness. But what drives me isn't my resume; it's this: mental illness is a bully, and no one deserves to be bullied. Nobody asked for it, and there is real courage in asking for help. I want to be a rock upon which mental illness breaks — helping people feel heard, seen, and able to enjoy life again. When I'm not working, you'll find me hiking, backpacking, or spending time with my dogs.
Down to earth and very open minded. I believe in complete transparency and accountability.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor trained in EMDR, I believe that healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and supported. Taking the first step toward help is often the hardest part—so I commend you for being here. I earned my Master’s degree from Arizona State University and have dedicated my career to helping individuals navigate life’s most challenging moments. While I work with a range of clients, I’m especially passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and those facing anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. Most of us haven’t made it through life without a few bruises. Sometimes we lose touch with ourselves along the way, shaped by what we’ve been through and the weight of those experiences.
That doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. It means you adapted. Sometimes beautifully. Sometimes painfully. Often both.
Therapy is a space to slow down, get curious, and gently begin untangling what you’ve been carrying. Together, we can explore your story with compassion, reconnect with who you are beneath old patterns, and move toward a way of living that feels more aligned, grounded, and authentic.
Hi there! My name is Laurie. I’m a warm, supportive psychotherapist who helps individuals and young adults (15+) feel safe, understood and hopeful as they work through challenges. I use a trauma-informed approach and am trained in EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), CBT, and several other evidence-based modalities. Before becoming a therapist, I worked on camera as a news anchor and reporter across several states, which deepened my understanding of people’s stories and resilience. I’m bilingual, having lived in Argentina for roughly two years. And here's my happiest trait.... I'm a mom to four adult kids and a grandmother to three!
