Anxiety and perfectionism have turned your mind into a battleground. Your inner critic nitpicks every interaction, leaving you exhausted by thoughts of “Damnit, why can’t I just be better!” Painful memories get louder, no matter how hard you try to ignore them. Daily invalidations of your Latina, queer, or immigrant identity sting, and you feel isolated as you keep your suffering to yourself. You’ve tried everything: doom scrolling, drinking, and self-help books, but nothing has worked. You're left feeling hopeless and weighed down.
Are you a part of a community, in a relationship, a family, or a line of work that used to feel supportive but now feels costly? Do you feel like you are performing, on guard, or run down as a result? Do you feel unable to change because the stakes are so high? I understand and walk the complicated terrain of change with my clients. Many are men, gay men, and LGBTQ+ people seeking support in affirming their identity, navigating relationships, family systems, or religious environments, and those navigating career, family, and mid life, and cult survivors.
As a former minister turned psychotherapist I've walked through change myself. My practice is grounded in psychological and clinical insight. For some on a spiritual path this enhances therapy. Some are desiring to process religious trauma or limiting aspects of their religious or spiritual background with someone who can understand these environments.
I work with all ages and I'm trained in trauma based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR. I offer individual therapy using attachment based therapies, solution-focused brief therapy, and Gestalt self-compassion techniques. I'm not currently offering couples counseling except through private pay. I have worked with foster youth, caregivers, families, LGBTQ, and veterans. I have found my work to be professionally rewarding by assisting people in reaching their goals. I’m committed to meeting your needs and learning.
I enjoy bringing humor and kindness to my sessions I want to know what you need and will do my best with helping you get there
Hello, my name is Anna Kramarz and I would love to welcome you to therapy, whether you are a seasoned veteran or it is your very first time. My practice offers a warm, open, and collaborative space for adults who seek learning, growing, and healing within themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.
I subscribe to cognitive behavioral therapy, emphasizing the rational behavioral therapy modality. I hold a doctorate (EdD) in counseling and educational psychology from the University of San Francisco, where I also earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. I earned a Master's in Divinity from the Franciscan School of Theology at the Graduate Theological Union. I have been practicing since 1987 and am a seasoned therapist.
I arrive as a human first, therapist second. I consider myself a deeply attuned feeler and a lover of animals. My personal process deeply influences my process as a psychotherapist. Navigating complex trauma, navigating the world as a deep feeler, and returning to being in my body are core processes where I have transmuted pain into spaciousness.
I work with adults across the full span of life, from age 18 through 103, and I truly value the different experiences that come with each stage. Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, or simply wanting to feel more balanced and well, I am here to support you. I believe mental health care should feel accessible and responsive, which is why I offer flexible options like same day appointments, telehealth, and even house calls. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide care that fits into your life, not the other way around.
I work with individuals, couples, and families seeking meaningful change in their lives. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process that is supportive, empathetic and nonjudgmental. My role is to provide practical tools, insight, empowerment, and encouragement as you build emotional resilience, resolve internal and interpersonal conflicts, and move toward greater well-being.
People say I am a good listener so I will get to know you and the goals you bring to therapy
