I'm Michael (I also go by Mike). I'm glad you're here. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and I've been in the field since 2010.
It's important to note that reaching out for support can be tough, and it matters that you've taken this step.
I am a clinical social worker who uses an attuned and compassionate approach to accompany you in your deep inner healing work. I have experience working with trauma, anxiety, grief/loss, attachment, and the LGBTQ+/polyamorous/CNM community. I utilize IFS, EMDR, and mindfulness and somatic based practices to help you identify, honor, and release emotions and narratives that impact your well-being or self-perception.
I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing or have experienced depression, anxiety, anger, grief/loss, relationship conflicts, addictions, gender/identity concerns, lack of motivation, abuse and trauma, life transitions and men’s mental health concerns. In addition, I have worked closely with the LGBTQ+ population. Prior to working in the private practice setting, I have 14 years of experience as a teacher and counselor in the public schools of New Jersey, Texas and Colorado.
I work with adults who want to get back in touch with what is most important to them to feel more connected to themselves and others. I can share techniques to manage anxiety, overcome past & present challenges, connect more authentically with others, and identify skills that will help you succeed in school, work and life. If you are struggling with trauma, grief, depression/anxiety or other mental/emotional stress, we will work together to find the tools that best support your well-being.

Headway helps you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder with expert-guided support — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding OCD therapists in Denver starts with looking for training that matches obsessive-compulsive disorder care. OCD therapy may support people managing intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, avoidance, anxiety, or related stress. Exposure and response prevention, often called ERP, is a common evidence-based approach for OCD. Since not all therapists are trained in ERP, review each therapist’s bio for specific mentions of ERP, OCD therapy, obsessive thoughts, or experience with ocd treatments for adults.
Denver has many mental health therapists across neighborhoods like Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek, LoDo, and surrounding areas, which can make it harder to narrow your options. For OCD care, look beyond whether a therapist lists OCD as a specialty. Check whether they describe specific ERP training, their therapeutic approach, appointment availability, and whether they offer virtual or in-person sessions. A therapist’s profile can also show how they structure sessions and whether they offer a free phone consultation before you book.
Therapy in Denver can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand your expected out-of-pocket cost before care begins. Headway helps you find Denver OCD therapists who are accepting new patients, review detailed bios, verify your insurance, see estimated costs upfront, and book directly when you’re ready.
