Hi, I'm Jheanelle Bailey, a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 17 years of experience caring for individuals with cancer. My background includes pediatric and adult oncology, chemotherapy infusion, and inpatient and outpatient cancer care, giving me a deep understanding of the emotional challenges that can come with a cancer diagnosis. While I have a special passion for supporting patients, survivors, caregivers, and families affected by cancer, I also provide psychiatric care for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care—including medication management and brief therapy —in a supportive, judgment-free environment where every patient feels heard, understood, and empowered.

I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, depression, and ADHD across the lifespan, and I work with adults and seniors navigating a range of mental health challenges — including bipolar disorder, OCD, panic disorders, sleep difficulties, and more. My greatest strength is building genuine, trusting relationships with my patients. I take the time to listen without judgment, understand each person's unique needs, and create individualized treatment plans that help you feel supported and empowered throughout your mental health journey. Outside of work, I recharge by spending time with my family, traveling, and staying active outdoors.
I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in behavioral health across diverse clinical settings including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient care, long term care, and telehealth. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, mood disorders, life transitions, burnout, and the emotional challenges that can come with balancing multiple roles and responsibilities.
This is a telehealth practice. As a personal choice, the use of narcotics or other controlled (DEA) meds are minimal, if any. I've been a psych nurse practitioner for at least 14yrs. I believe in managing conditions with psychiatric and non-psychiatric treatment modalities that are evidence based. The use of the least amount of meds, at lower doses that does the healing of symptoms, is an active process involving the client and based on the reported experiences. Safety is the core of my practice and my job is to help clients understand internal signals and how to prevent another crisis.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding psychiatrists in Longwood starts with knowing what type of mental health care you want to schedule. Psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, medical doctors, and doctors of osteopathic medicine can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication. Therapists focus on talk therapy. Both can be useful entry points, depending on your needs. If you are looking for support with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, or medication management, review each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, training, and approach before booking.
Longwood is a smaller local market, so nearby in-person psychiatry appointments may vary by schedule, office location, and availability. Virtual appointments can expand your options across Florida while still helping you connect with a psychiatrist who fits your needs. Medication management visits are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, though some psychiatrists also offer therapy. Some people choose to work with both a therapist and a prescriber. As you compare profiles, look for appointment times, whether the psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and what their bio says about communication style and care structure.
Psychiatric care in Longwood can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before your visit. Headway helps verify your benefits and shows estimated out-of-pocket costs before you book. Every psychiatrist listed is accepting new patients, and many take insurance, making it easier to review bios, compare availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
