Thank you for checking out my profile! I began counseling in 2011. My career started in community mental health, with clients who had been hospitalized, on probation or parole, or working with DFCS. Through this role, I was able to work with a variety of issues. I obtained my BS from Kennesaw State University and MS in Community Counseling from North Georgia University. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University, where I focused on systems theory and narrative practice. Over the years, I’ve worked with diverse populations supporting clients through challenges such as relationship transitions, trauma recovery, and identity exploration.

Beginning my practice decades ago as a combat trauma therapist, I have found myself dealing with the traumas of early life and relationships with most my adolescent and adult clients. I believe counseling can offer many “tools”, to cope, however, I prefer to help people heal so that coping becomes an infrequent need.

My curiosity about substance abuse and family systems sparked my interest in this field, leading me to study substance abuse counseling, which eventually deepened my passion for psychology.

Over the years, I’ve worked in Connecticut alongside DCF and the court systems. Since starting as a case manager in 1995, I’ve continued to grow and gain valuable experience in this ever-evolving field of psychology.
