Headway helps you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder with expert-guided support — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding a therapist who genuinely specializes in OCD can be harder than it sounds. Many providers list OCD as a focus area, but fewer have specific training in exposure and response prevention (ERP), a commonly used therapeutic approach for OCD-related symptoms. When evaluating providers in Overland Park, look for those who mention ERP, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in their bios. A psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner may also be a good fit if you're interested in combining therapy with medication management.
Beyond clinical approach, consider what logistics matter most to you — whether that's a provider near south Overland Park or Leawood, someone available for evening appointments, or a therapist who offers virtual sessions so you can connect from anywhere in Kansas. Reading a provider's full bio can help you understand their style and decide if they're a good match before committing to a first session.
OCD therapy in the Kansas City metro can be expensive without coverage, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most direct ways to lower what you pay. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs upfront, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find an OCD specialist who fits both your clinical needs and your budget.
