Hi there! Just a little bit about me; I am a wife, a mom of twins, a lover of books, an Eight on the Enneagram & I love the work that I am blessed to do every day. I have my MS in Counseling as well as my certificate in Life Coaching. I am licensed clinically in KS & MO, and I am a Supervisor in both states. I specialize in treating eating disorders. I also enjoy working with anxiety & mood disorders, perfectionism and other co-occurring disorders.
I've spent my career helping people navigate life's challenges. I have been a therapist for over fourteen years. I've worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups, and I genuinely enjoy my work. I know that life can be difficult, and there can be times when you feel alone, without anyone who understands you or the situation you are facing. That is why I became a therapist to help those who feel stuck and misunderstood. I will never make you feel like just a number. My approach is client-centered and solution-focused. I will work with you in helping you reach the goals that mean the most to you.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 2003 and a master’s degree in counseling in 2005, both from Missouri State University.
For the past 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work with students and parents, in high school, middle school and elementary settings, as an educator and Professional School Counselor. Over the years, I have also worked with many struggling youth during my role as a Missouri Options Liaison, as well as a Community Service Liaison, providing outreach in the community. More recently, I received court mediator training, which provided new insight into conflict resolution procedures. Prior to counseling, I was an elementary teacher, working with students to help them achieve academic goals, while also facilitating emotional growth, and social awareness as well.
For over 20 years I have worked with students of all ages, as well as many parents and families. I specialize in helping one navigate the neurodivergent brain, anxiety and depression in adolescent youth, family counseling, couple’s counseling, emotional and social struggles, as well as adults working through childhood trauma.
It's great to meet you. Here's a little about me: Like my parents, I became a therapist after getting my Masters Degree from the University of Kansas. My career taught me how movement, food and sleep affect a person's mental health. This lead me to treat eating disorders. I've been practicing for a decade and I see clients in Kansas & Missouri. I work with adults who have an eating disorder. I'd like to offer you a 15-min consult where we'll continue this conversation to see if we're a good fit.
I firmly believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, even when they feel stuck. I've always been drawn to understanding what makes people tick and what gets in the way of them living their best lives. I'm passionate about helping others improve their quality of life by providing a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, identify their strengths, and develop practical strategies for creating positive change. I see my role as a facilitator, guiding individuals on their own unique path to greater well-being and a sense of liberation from what holds them back.
Patients in Missouri often look for clear guidance, fast access, and thoughtful medication support. My focus is helping adults understand their mental health symptoms and finding the right treatment plan that works for their life.
I specialize in psychiatric medication management for anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and stress-related conditions. Many of my patients come in feeling overwhelmed or unsure about medications, and my goal is to make the process simple, collaborative, and comfortable.
I work with patients across Missouri through secure telehealth visits so you can receive care from the comfort of your home. My approach is practical and focused — we work together to identify what is happening, review treatment options, and build a plan that helps you feel better and function better in daily life.
Whether you’re starting treatment for the first time or looking to adjust your current medications, I aim to provide clear guidance and thoughtful care every step of the way.
