Hello, my name is Patty and I am here to remind you that;
You are not your struggles.
Too often, people begin to define themselves by their anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addiction, painful experiences, or difficult circumstances. While these challenges are real and deserve attention, they do not define who you are.
I understand that life's journey can include loss, disappointment, uncertainty, and unexpected transitions. Yet,.I believe these experiences can also reveal resilience, wisdom, and strengths that may have previously gone unrecognized. Our experiences help shape our stories, but they do not determine how the story ends.
I have been in the medical field for over 20 years and have a rather diverse background. The last 6 years I have been in the role of PMHNP. Prior to that an RN in hospice, preceding that was critical care. Prior to becoming a nurse, I worked as an STNA.
Hi there! Thank you for considering me as someone you'd have come alongside you on this leg of your journey! Here's some background about me to help determine if I'm a good fit. Let's start with a classic, I took psychology classes in high school and really enjoyed it! Pair that with a passion for helping others and a love for science, landing on studying psychology in college felt like a natural option. I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology in 2014 then went on to work in healthcare and volunteering in a mental healthcare setting until I started graduate school in 2016. At that same time, I began working as community based case manager helping people with a variety of mental health challenges like anxiety, depression and trauma. My experience in these areas expanded when I began counseling as an intern in 2018. The following year, I began as a licensed therapist, in private practice, where I've continued helping folks navigate stress, relationship dynamics, setting boundaries, processing and making sense of past experiences and holding space for thoughts, feelings, emotions and figuring out ways to create the changes they want in their lives.
Clients should know that I bring both professional expertise and genuine compassion to every session. I specialize in working with neurodiverse individuals, people managing anxiety or depression, and those navigating major life transitions. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, meaning I value your voice in the process and tailor our work together to your unique goals.
I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where you can be fully yourself without judgment. My role is to listen, guide, and equip you with tools that promote resilience, self-awareness, and growth. I also understand the importance of balancing mental health with real-life challenges like school, work, and relationships, and I integrate practical strategies to help you thrive in each area.
Most importantly, I want clients to know that they are not alone. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on both healing and building the confidence to move forward.
