My name is James Martin and I have been working in the field of counseling for nearly 20 years. My goal is to assist you on your journey of discovering your best version of yourself.

As a licensed counselor with over 10 years of experience, I have worked in a variety of different settings with those struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. I graduated from Liberty University with a master's in counseling and practice as a licensed professional counselor as well as a licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner. I have worked in outpatient and inpatient settings.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia with extensive experience in residential substance use treatment, IOP/PHP, and outpatient therapy. I specialize in addiction, trauma, and co-occurring mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, bringing both clinical expertise and long-term personal recovery from addiction and trauma-related challenges to my work. I love to learn and help others so I continue to pursue advanced training in psychodrama, trauma-informed care, and evidenced-based approaches for substance use and trauma recovery.
