I have a very mellow, approachable style, and my main goal is to help my patients reach their goals. Many of the people I work with feel like they haven’t been truly heard before, or that medication was presented as their only option. I take time to listen and make sure you feel comfortable, understood, and involved in your care. I also grew up in an immigrant household, where mental health wasn’t always talked about or seen as an option, and that experience really shaped how I work with my patients today.
I’m Fatoumata Diallo, PMHNP‐BC, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner providing care to individuals ages 10 through older adulthood across Texas. My work is rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and mood disorders, with a particular passion for supporting clients through life transitions, trauma recovery, and emotional overwhelm. I believe mental health care should feel collaborative, transparent, and empowering.
My approach blends medication management, supportive therapy, and psychoeducation, always tailored to your unique goals and strengths. To enhance continuity and access, my practice also offers membership services that provide ongoing support between visits.
My mission is to help you feel more grounded, more hopeful, and more in control of your mental health journey.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right psychiatrist in Waxahachie starts with understanding what kind of care you need. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and monitor how that medication is working over time. If you're looking for help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or PTSD, a psychiatrist may be the right fit. Psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) can also evaluate, diagnose, and manage medication — and they make up a large share of the psychiatric providers practicing in the Waxahachie and Ellis County area.
With a smaller number of local psychiatric practices in Waxahachie compared to larger cities like Dallas or Fort Worth, finding a provider with availability can take time. Consider what matters most to you — whether that's a provider who specializes in a specific condition, someone who offers virtual appointments, or a practice close to your neighborhood. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their background and approach before you book.
Psychiatry sessions in Waxahachie can be costly without insurance. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to lower your out-of-pocket costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs upfront, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a psychiatrist or PMHNP who is both the right clinical fit and covered by your plan.
