I am a licensed Marriage Family Therapist.
I have worked in the mental health field for about 19 years. I have worked with individuals struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, somatic disorders, trauma issues, stress management, divorce recovery, anger issues, and grief. I worked with couples and families struggling with conflict, communication challenges, child rearing, and relationship issues.
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree, from Biola University, in Biblical Theology. I received my Master of Arts degree, from Pepperdine University, in Clinical Psychology, and recently a Master of Arts degree, from Dallas Theological Seminary, in Biblical Studies. I believe I brings a great deal of life experience to the therapeutic setting. I had a long career in Law Enforcement, retiring as a Police Manager/Lieutenant.
My main approaches to therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Behavioral Modification Therapy, and Emotional Focused Therapy.
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in helping people build their inner resilience through compassion, insight, and relationship. I have gathered all of the best professional and educational experiences important as a Therapist, I have also spent over a decade as a personal trainer, health coach and nutrition guide. The combined expertise allows me to use evidence based therapeutic practices, such as CBT, ACT combined with somatic and mindful practices.
I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with nearly a decade of experience across community mental health, hospital, and private practice settings. I offer sessions in English and Mandarin, and I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, grief, and relationship challenges. I have a particular understanding of how culture, family history, and identity shape our inner lives — especially for Asian American and immigrant communities
I have over 30 years of clinical, counseling and administrative experience working with individuals and couples, addressing the unique issues related to their unique life experiences. I have extensive professional and personal experience with military families and veterans. I understand first-hand the struggles of grief and medical conditions that impact all aspects of life. I have supported chronically and terminally ill patients, individuals living with cancer or chronic medical diagnoses, as well as parents experiencing infertility, peripartum, and postpartum depression. Whether dealing with life transitions, parenting, depression, anxiety, or divorce, or simply seeking to express yourself and feel more confident, I am here to walk with you, provide insights, and support you toward lasting change.
You can know exactly where something comes from and still feel completely stuck in it. That's often where the real work begins. I work with adults and seniors navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, eating disorders, and the weight of holding multiple cultural worlds at once. I offer sessions in both English and Farsi. I was born in Tehran and came to the United States as a child. That journey shapes how I show up for clients who are holding two worlds at once. Clients often describe me as thoughtful, unhurried, and genuinely curious about who they are.
I'm Saby Kirpal, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health care. I hold Master's degrees from Chamberlain University and Walden University, graduating with Presidential Honors, reflecting my commitment to clinical excellence. My diverse professional background spans inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, and outpatient clinics, giving me insight into mental health treatment at every level of care. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, and substance use disorders across age groups. My experience includes working with children as young as eight through adults in crisis stabilization, residential treatment, and ongoing medication management.
What makes my practice unique is the integration of my nursing background with psychiatric expertise. I understand how physical health, medications, lifestyle factors, and mental health interconnect. Being trilingual in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, with conversational Spanish, allows me to serve diverse communities and appreciate how culture shapes mental health experiences.
I've worked from UCSF Health to community clinics, teaching me that excellent care isn't about the setting—it's about the relationship. Whether you're seeking help for the first time, between providers, or managing ongoing conditions, I'm here to partner with you. My approach centers on listening first, explaining clearly, and making decisions together. Mental health treatment should never feel like something done to you, but rather something we navigate together. I'm committed to creating a space where you feel respected, understood, and genuinely supported.
Hello and welcome! There is so much I want to share with you!
I acknowledge that finding a therapist can sometimes feel overwhelming because you want to find a good fit, someone who “gets” you, so I thank you for being here.
I identify as a Latinx, cis gender woman, feminist, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ ally, and spiritual. I am the granddaughter of immigrants from Mexico and the daughter of working class parents. Before coming to Marriage and Family Therapy, I earned a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies, and wrote my thesis on the jurisprudence of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I am aware of the dominant societal structures, narratives, expectations and pressures that can impact your story and how you live it. I look forward to being alongside you as you write a preferred story – one that is fully authored by you.
Prior to focusing on Marriage and Family Therapy, I worked for close to nineteen years in higher education leadership, advising and mentoring college students at a public university in Southern California. The relationships I fostered with students and the stories they shared with me inspired me to move into Marriage and Family Therapy. Like my work with the students, my therapy work is filled with compassion, empathy and understanding. And while there may sometimes be difficult conversations and tears in our work, I also invite in laughter, lightness and joy.
I am currently scheduling online and in-person appointments. I am available Mondays- Thursdays, and Saturdays.
It is my prayer to build a practice that helps you reach a place where your mental health is truly at the forefront. My hope is that with each appointment—and each day—you feel supported in moving closer to the best version of yourself.
I am a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in both Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health. With a foundation in whole-person, evidence-based care, I integrate medical management with psychotherapy and lifestyle interventions to support mental and physical wellness.
My background spans outpatient psychiatry, primary care, home health, and assisted living settings, allowing me to understand the unique needs of patients across all stages of life. I have extensive experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and chronic medical comorbidities that impact emotional well-being.
I believe in creating a collaborative, compassionate, and culturally sensitive environment where patients feel heard and empowered to take an active role in their care. My approach focuses on building balance—supporting both the mind and body—through medication management, therapy, and integrative care strategies.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-C) providing compassionate, evidence-based care through telehealth. My background includes experience in emergency care and mental health treatment. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, and mood disorders.
