I have close to two decades of experience treating adults, children, and families in the Bay Area. My focus is on providing integrative psychotherapy (IP). IP is an approach that is generally flexible with an inclusive attitude toward the different psychotherapeutic models depending on the client's needs.
Healing happens in relationships, and I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach, focusing on the whole family system. When one person struggles, it affects everyone. My approach is collaborative, relational, and strengths-based, prioritizing a safe space, unconditional positive regard, and a strong therapeutic alliance. I work with toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, parents, couples, and families. I help families navigate emotional and behavioral challenges and individuals seeking growth, connection, and healing.
I treat ADHD, OCD, Anxiety & Depression, Emotional Dysregulation & Adjustment Issues. I offer Child-Centered Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy for Goal-Oriented Change, Parent Support, & Family Therapy.
Every child deserves to feel seen, every parent deserves support, and every person deserves a space of hope and growth. Let’s work together to create lasting change.
Hello, I'm Mindy. I'm a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with 16 years of clinical experience. My path has included military service, community health work in rural Morocco, and care across many settings, from intensive care to hospice. These experiences shape how I show up: with warmth, curiosity, cultural humility, and respect for everyone's story. I treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
That means taking time to dig into your history, what has worked, what has not, and what you actually want from your care. Whether that is medication, therapy, or both, we figure it out together.
I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, and life transitions including loss, chronic illness, major life changes, and times when you just cannot name what is wrong yet.
I'm an open minded individual and welcome any topics in treatment
Hi, and welcome! I am Joy Nnebe, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am thrilled you’re considering working with me.
I have 8 years of experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing, and I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, and more, using approaches like CBT therapy and trauma-informed care. I aim to provide simple, non-judgemental, supportive, and personalized care to help you feel understood and empowered on your mental health journey.
What patterns keep repeating in your life, even when part of you wants something different? I work with infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, with a particular focus on experiences that are hard to put into words: the quiet accumulation of feeling disconnected or unseen, questions around adoption and family origins, infertility, the emotional weight of becoming a parent, and the grief that comes when life takes an unexpected shape. A lot of what brings people to therapy is not a single event. It builds. I trained at UCLA and bring both clinical depth and genuine warmth to this work.
I came from Denmark to California for my own therapy and healing. After working for 20+ years as an educator and creating a family, I decided to pursue the road to become a therapist. I've worked with a diverse range of people, families, ages and challenges in humanistic, person centered, emotion focused schools, in psychodynamic community clinic, in substance use recovery center running groups and in a treatment center for clients suffering from eating disorders and co-existing conditions. Working in this field continues to give me an in depth understanding of the human soul and heart that I strive to use to help others heal.

Headway helps you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder with expert-guided support — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding OCD therapists in San Francisco starts with looking for the right training, not just the right location. OCD care often focuses on intrusive thoughts, compulsions, checking behaviors, rituals, and related anxiety. Exposure and response prevention, often called ERP, is one approach some therapists use when supporting people with OCD, and not all therapists have specific training in it. As you compare options, look for therapists who list OCD, ERP, cognitive behavioral therapy, or related experience in their bios.
San Francisco has many therapists across neighborhoods like the Mission, SoMa, Pacific Heights, and the Richmond, which can make it harder to narrow your search. Consider whether you prefer an in-person appointment near work, home, or transit, or a virtual session that fits more easily into your schedule. For OCD therapy, it can also help to compare therapists who mention ERP training directly rather than those who list OCD as one of many areas of focus. Reading profiles can show how a therapist describes their approach, session structure, and experience with OCD care before you book.
Therapy in San Francisco can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps you find therapists who are accepting new patients and offer upfront cost estimates after you enter your insurance details to confirm available coverage. You can browse OCD therapists in San Francisco, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
