I graduated with honors from National Louis University with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I received a bachelor’s degree in Special Education in 2013 from Walsh University in Ohio. I taught children with varying exceptionalities and learning differences for five years. I have over ten years of experience working with children and adults with autism, ADHD, and various learning disabilities.

I utilize interventions of various approaches to best assist my clients in accomplishing their individual goals. These approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Lorraine Barry is a Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training in family systems. She holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University and an Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hall University. Lorraine is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and has held leadership roles with NJ-AAMFT and the National Council on Compulsive Gambling. Her clinical work focuses on issues including trauma, couple conflict, family dynamics, grief, parenting, and compulsive gambling, and she is also trained in EMDR therapy for trauma and anxiety.

I earned an MSW from Tulane School of Social Work in 1989 and am a clinical social worker. I also practice Psychodrama and am a graduate of the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute in NY. I work primarily with musicians, actors & writers. I have a long history of working in non-profit agencies and schools, providing top notch care to disadvantaged and oppressed adolescents and families.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 28 years of experience partnering with adolescents, adults of all ages and families. I am bilingual so I offer therapy in english and spanish.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, have worked with a wide population of individuals, most of my experience with the adult population. I started my career with an interest is eating disorder and developed skills to address co-occuring concerns. I bring 14 years of experience working with mental health and substance abuse.
