Life can be full of surprises. Sometimes those surprises are wonderful, other times they can cause stress, anxiety and even depression. My goal is to walk with you through those transitions and help you develop the skills and tools to manage your feelings; to feel like you are in control of your emotions, rather than the other way around around. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I received my MSW from the University of Georgia. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and trauma.
I have 12 years’ experience counseling all backgrounds and ages including men, women, mothers, professionals, veterans, and teens who have dealt with anxiety, depression, addiction, family and career issues, etc. My clients often tell me that I have a unique way of explaining ideas and perspectives to them that makes it easy for them to understand and apply.
Hello there, my number one priority is to see clients within 1 to 5 business days to begin the process of assisting them with a hot topic known as "Life-ing." Today, I consider myself blessed because I find it rewarding in seeing clients reach their maximum potential. In addition to my mental health background for over 28 years, I have my own life experiences, coupled with being married to a minister, motherhood, and personal trauma, which have proven to be beneficial in my scope of practice.
I have done extensive work with grief/loss, anxiety, relational, premarital, substance use, and Christian Counseling.
I have been counselling since 2007 and I specialized in working with people with depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, mood disorder, relationship.
I bring both clinical expertise and real-world experience into our work together. I understand that many people come to therapy feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start and I meet clients with patience, respect, and honesty.
I believe therapy should feel collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in safety. I don’t rush the process or expect clients to have everything figured out. We move at a pace that feels sustainable, while still working toward meaningful change.
Clients should also know that I value direct communication and transparency. I will offer reflections and tools when helpful, but I will always honor your autonomy and lived experience. I do not believe in pathologizing survival responses, especially when they are shaped by trauma, systemic stress, or long-term caregiving roles.
Above all, my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered, a space where you can breathe, reflect, and begin to shift from surviving to living with greater clarity and intention.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in McDonough starts with identifying what you want to address — whether that's anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, or something else. Look for a licensed provider who specializes in your area of concern. Common license types include Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), and psychologists. If you think medication management may be part of your care, a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner can help.
McDonough and the surrounding Henry County area have a range of providers offering both in-person and virtual sessions. When comparing options, consider factors like a provider's experience, their therapeutic approach, and whether their availability fits your schedule. Reading a provider's bio can give you a sense of their style and what to expect before you commit.
Therapy in the McDonough area can be expensive without insurance, but using in-network coverage is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay per session. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit — making it easier to find a provider who fits both your clinical needs and your budget.
