Hey there. I'm Cecil Davison and I am the lead clinician at Restorative Roots Counseling Center. I've been practicing for more than 11 years. I specialize in working with children, teen, families, and adults. I also provide Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
Therapy is a "later in life" career for me. I have worked in multiple fields and with people from many backgrounds. Through this I learned that the thread connecting all of us is our desire to be able to respond rather than just react and thrive rather than just survive. What prevents this are the beliefs, experiences, and traumas that often are held in our bodies. It is when we identify and resolve these, we will live and love fully.
I work primarily with adult men who may appear successful and capable on the outside, but inwardly feel stuck, confused, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals or retired men who’ve spent years focused on careers and responsibilities, but now find themselves asking deeper questions about who they are, why they feel the way they do, and how to live more authentically. Some are navigating major life transitions—divorce, retirement, grief, or aging. Others are simply tired of feeling emotionally numb, misunderstood, or unsure of how to change long-standing patterns.
I specialize in working with men who are ready to take an honest look at themselves—not because something is “broken,” but because something inside is asking for more. More clarity. More peace. More understanding of why they think, feel, and act the way they do. Using evidence-based modalities such as: Internal Family Systems (IFS) , Hypnotherapy and DBT.
I understand the pressures, expectations, and quiet struggles many men carry—but rarely talk about. I also know how hard it can be to reach out and say, “I could use someone to talk to.” Therapy isn’t about being weak. It’s about being brave enough to face what’s been buried, and strong enough to grow beyond it. If any of this speaks to you, let's talk
I love working with people who are navigating the ups and downs of life — whether it’s ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, big life transitions, parenting challenges, or just feeling stuck. My ideal client is someone who’s ready to dig in, get curious, and try new ways of thinking and living. If you’re open to growth, want to feel more in control, and are ready to create positive change, I’m here to support you every step of the way!
You don’t have to keep holding it all together. I offer whole-person, body-based therapy for people navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, infertility, and life’s hardest seasons — with 20 years of clinical experience and a whole lot of hard-won humanity, I’ll help you to uncover patterns and habits that are keeping you stuck. There in in lies choice, and change.
It is my hope to assist children, teens and families toward healthy mind, body and spirit to allow for peace and joy in daily life and interactions. In my work in schools, treatment centers, and communities I have gathered experience in serving individuals working through anxiety, learning challenges, trauma, chronic disease and in healing as part of the adoption triad.
After spending 12 years working in the legal field, having 3 children, and ensuring my son with special needs had the support he needed to reach his potential, which he did beautifully, I decided to follow my (other) passion. Went back to school in 2016 to earn my Masters in Social Work, which allowed me to follow my dream - helping people find their voice, their identify, their peace, their power and their ability to grow.
