I have worked as a staff psychiatrist within the Maryland state mental health system for 23 years.

I have worked with substance abuse clients since 1992 when I created a treatment program at Crownsville Hospital, in Crownsville. More recently I have been working with clients receiving buprenorphine (Suboxone) for the treatment of opioid use disorder.

Meet Toni Session, LPC, LCPC—a steadfast servant and seasoned counselor, passionately advocating for mental health in both the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland. Born in Bridgeport, CT, and blossoming in Southern Maryland, Toni’s journey led her from a BA in Psychology with a Pre-Law minor at Johnson C. Smith University to mastering Marriage, Family, and Couples Therapy at Capella University in 2014. I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and the sole provider for George William Health and Wellness. I assess, diagnose and prescribe psychiatric medications. Depending on the circumstances, some patients want small amount of therapy added on to their medication management session.
