If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, mood changes, difficulty focusing, or the weight of past experiences, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
I’m Adelma Reyes, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with over 20 years of experience working with adults. I support people navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and trauma-related concerns.
I believe therapy is a space where you can feel truly heard, understood, and supported. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s been weighing on you, make sense of patterns that may be holding you back, and build practical tools to help you feel more grounded and in control. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling clearer, stronger, and more connected to yourself. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish.
I get to know each client individually, so we can work collaboratively to come up with goals that we work toward at your pace, ebbing and flowing as your needs change. My clinical experience has included intensive in-home crisis stabilization therapy, complex trauma treatment, solution-focused brief therapy, and treatment of dual-diagnoses.
I moved to St. Louis, MO from Tampa, FL in 2019 to study Social Work at Washington University, and chose to make a home here with my husband, child, and pets. I spend most of my leisure time cooking, gardening, reading, hiking, and going on crafting sprees. I also love to travel away from home, in search of grand museums and new foods.
Brigette Banks has experience helping clients in the areas of stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. She works with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
If you are moving through a major life transition, especially one you did not choose, you may find that old ways of coping no longer work. Many of the people I work with are adapting to a new chapter, trying to build the skills to meet it while weighing how change will affect the people they love. Some arrive unsure about trying therapy again after a difficult experience. Together, we trace how your family of origin and earliest relationships still echo in what you face today, because after more than 25 years, I have found that connecting past and present is often where real change begins.
I have over 20 years of experience in healthcare. My career began as a pharmacy technician, then as an emergency room nurse, and later supervising behavioral health units at Mercy St. Louis before becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. This background allows me to understand mental health from both medical and psychiatric perspectives.
I have been provided therapy services since 2021. I was trained in EMDR in 2024 and have been practicing since then. I have worked with individuals of all ages, but prefer to work with ages 14 and up.
