I am a therapist and strategic behavioral‐health leader with more than a decade of experience supporting youth, families, and adults navigating complex trauma, transition, and systems involvement. My background spans emergency shelter work, foster‐care transition programs, community‐based counseling, and clinical supervision of multidisciplinary teams.
Clients often describe me as steady, collaborative, and deeply attuned to the stories people carry. I bring a trauma‐informed lens to every interaction, honoring the resilience people develop in the face of adversity. My work is shaped by years of program development, crisis intervention, and advocacy for underserved communities — and by a belief that healing grows in environments where people feel seen, safe, and respected.
My ideal client is someone who feels overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck - whether from the pressures of work, family, trauma, or life transitions. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms, or the lingering effects of trauma. Many are high functioning professionals, first responders, healthcare workers, or veterans who've spent years putting others first and are now realizing their own mental health needs attention. They're seeking a provider who listens, validates, and offers practical, stigma-free care to ease symptoms, improve focus and sleep, and regain balance with a collaborative, holistic plan.
I am dually licensed as a nurse practitioner and a licensed professional counselor. I have been working with adults, adolescents, and children for more than 20 years. I have extensive experience with populations in crisis, mood disorders, and helping individuals identify their goals with clarity.
I believe everyone deserves a safe place to process life's challenges and discover hope. As a therapist, I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered. I specialize in relationships, attachment, anxiety, life transitions, and family dynamics. My approach combines evidence-based practices with genuine care, helping clients build healthier relationships with themselves and others. As a wife, mom, and pastor, I understand the complexities of balancing life's many roles and responsibilities, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they pursue healing and growth.
I’m Lauren Holder, M.S., P.L.P.C., and I’m honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University and have been practicing for over four years, helping individuals navigate the complexities of life with compassion.
I began my career in community mental health in 2010. I completed my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Evangel University. Prior to becoming a therapist I worked as a nurse for 13 years. This background leads me to take a holistic, whole-person approach to my practice. I work with children, adolescents, and adults and have specialized in treatment of trauma, ADHD, and child-parent conflicts.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate, recognizing that healing looks different for everyone. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and culturally sensitive approaches to create a space that honors each person’s unique story and identity. I have worked in the mental health field for more than ten years, supporting adolescents, adults, and families through challenges related to mental health, challenging family dynamics, life changes, and substance use.
I work with individuals and families facing depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, identity issues, personality disorders, family conflict, and experiences related to immigration and adjustment. I also have experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and those exploring questions of belonging and self-acceptance.
I believe everyone deserves a therapeutic relationship where they are seen, heard, accepted, and celebrated—a space where they can feel supported in making the changes that matter most to them. My goal is to offer a safe and empowering environment that helps clients reconnect with their strengths and move toward meaningful change.
