Feeling overwhelmed? Believe you aren't good enough? Dealing with grief/loss? Struggling to adjust to life challenges (health problems, career, college, infertility)? Experiencing relationship difficulties? Want to learn how to effectively communicate with others? I'm eager to hear your story. I'll encourage you to express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. From there, we will work together to identify problematic beliefs and behaviors impacting different aspects of your life with the goal of gaining a new perspective and using your strengths to create a healthy lifestyle.
My clinical training was in adult psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. I earned a Masters degree in Social Work from Florida International University and a PhD in Social Welfare from the City University of New York Graduate Center.
I specialize in working with adults who feel excluded in one way or another either at work, in their family, community, or society at large--immigrants, people of color, those with disabilities, LGBTQ+, etc. Even if you don't identify yourself in these ways, being treated as if you don't belong can impact parts of your life and I want to provide you support.
I generally assist adults with depression, anxiety, health problems, relationship issues, grief/loss, work stress, school issues, infertility, and parenting. My approach is warm, interactive and non-judgmental. I believe in collaborating with my clients to tailor a treatment plan to fit their unique needs. Depending on your goals in therapy, I generally incorporate a strength-based approach using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing techniques and/or psychodynamic approaches to help increase self-awareness, engage in problem solving skills and teach positive coping strategies.

I conduct therapy sessions in both English and Spanish. I have experience working with individuals facing challenges related to depression and/or anxiety, as well as those with a history of self-harm and suicidal ideation. I also work with clients to heal from sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, intergenerational trauma, and racial trauma.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in somatic psychotherapy, which acknowledges the mind-body connection and the ways stress is held in the body. As a first-generation Mexican, I am deeply passionate about supporting BIPOC individuals and those from immigrant families.
Additionally, I have a strong background in working with individuals who engage in problematic sexual behavior, as well as those seeking to address an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and drugs.
I’m Kaymara Gayle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works primarily with adults (18+) navigating grief, anxiety, relationship issues, and depression. My approach is supportive and collaborative—I don’t just listen, I partner with you. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and challenges that may be holding you back and work toward insight, healing, and growth.
I’m an insightful and compassionate therapist who believes in meeting clients where they are. Whether you're overwhelmed by loss, stuck in unhealthy relationship dynamics, or battling anxious or low moods, I will help you make sense of what you're feeling and why. I value honesty, care deeply about my clients’ progress, and bring a thoughtful, strategic mindset to our work.
You don’t have to face things alone. If you're ready to understand yourself more deeply and move toward change, I’m here to guide and support you each step of the way.
With my background in Elementary Education and School Counseling, in addition to my License in Mental Health Counseling, I have worked with children, adolescents, families, and adults experiencing behavioral and mental health challenges in various stages of life, particularly as a result of anxiety, depression, and traumatic events.
