I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Addiction Specialist — and this work is not just my profession, it is my calling. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating substance and behavioral addictions, and I also hold space for something that often goes unaddressed: the family members of addicted loved ones, who carry their own profound pain and deserve their own healing. I am trained in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relapse Prevention, and Self-Compassion practices. But beyond the credentials, here is what I want you to know about me: I believe that therapy is about walking beside you — not directing you, not fixing you — with the quiet understanding that we are all, in our own way, walking one another home. That belief shapes everything about how I show up for my clients.
Hi, I’m Emily Long, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, families, and school communities across North Carolina. My background includes extensive work in school mental health, behavioral support, crisis intervention, and helping individuals navigate emotional and life challenges with compassion and practical support.
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Tulane University and my professional experience has centered around supporting children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, trauma, school-related stress, ADHD, and family challenges. I also work closely with adults who are experiencing burnout, stress, compassion fatigue, life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work and caregiving.
I’ve been practicing therapy for 25 years, which has included 12 years in NC and prior practice in both Kansas and New Mexico. I’ve worked in community mental health most of my career so I’ve had the opportunity to serve all ages and provide treatment for a huge variety of mental health concerns. I’m pretty down to Earth, open, honest, and genuine. I can be direct when needed to help bring awareness or light to a potential problem area while at the same time me providing support and encouragement. I enjoy hearing people’s life stories and helping individuals navigate their way through difficult life situations and problematic symptoms. No judgment, just a person available to help you find what you need.
Hi, I’m Samantha Maybern, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals and families feel supported, understood, and empowered. I have experience working with children, adults, and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, life transitions, and relationship stress. My approach is compassionate, practical, and strengths-based, while also honoring each client’s values and personal journey. I believe healing happens through connection, trust, and learning new ways to move forward.
As a clinician, I enjoy working with everyone in all phases of life helping in building self-esteem, managing addiction, trauma, self-discovery, medication management, anger management, re-establishing one's dreams/purpose, building/strengthening relationships one has with self, partners or family systems.
I have worked with foster children, young adults, primary care staff and patients, those who struggled with substance abuse in a methadone clinic, provided supervision to non-licensed social workers in the hospital.
I welcome the opportunity to meet with you for a consultation to see if working together would be a great match like a grilled cheese or peanut butter sandwich.
Best of luck on your journey to health and wellness.
I'm Janna Williams, and my path to becoming a therapist is anything but traditional — and I think that's exactly what makes me effective. After 30 years with the State of North Carolina, I retired and did what most people wouldn't: I started over. I became a mobile crisis team responder, showed up for people in their hardest moments, and discovered exactly where I was meant to be. I hold a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from UNC Charlotte (Go Niners! 🤘) and earned my Master of Social Work from UNC Pembroke in 2022 (Go Braves! 🏹). My background spans the judicial system, child welfare, substance use, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention — which means I've seen a lot, and very little surprises or intimidates me. I'm here with you at Greater Vision Counseling Services, Southern Pines, and I am genuinely honored to be part of your story.
