I'm a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to your unique needs. For the past 8 years, I’ve worked closely with individuals managing chronic pain and substance use disorders, providing integrated support that addresses both physical and mental health needs. I specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and PTSD with a focus on individuals over 18 years old.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 32years of experience, I provide therapy that is empathetic, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. In a safe and supportive space, we’ll explore your concerns, identify recurring patterns, and work together to create meaningful, long-term changes. I also focus on practical strategies for short-term relief, helping you build satisfying relationships, achieve your goals, and strengthen your emotional regulation. My approach is integrative, collaborative, and centered on helping you feel understood, empowered, and supported throughout your journey.
I’ve been working in the mental health field for nearly a decade and bring a deep commitment to helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. I hold a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. These academic foundations, combined with years of hands-on experience, have shaped my compassionate, informed, and client-centered approach to therapy.
Most recently I was serving as a Licensed Clinical Therapist where I provided individual and group therapy in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adults facing complex mental health and substance use challenges. I am currently working at a small group practice treating adults with stress, anxiety, depression, ptsd, and more. I hold sessions on the weekend and in the morning one a week.
At the heart of my practice is a belief in the power of authentic connection. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore difficult emotions, build insight, and take meaningful steps toward lasting change.

Headway helps you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder with expert-guided support — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Searching for OCD therapists in Virginia Beach starts with finding someone trained in obsessive-compulsive disorder care. OCD can involve intrusive thoughts, compulsive checking, contamination fears, reassurance seeking, or harm-related obsessions. Exposure and response prevention, often called ERP, is one therapy approach some clinicians use when supporting people with OCD, depending on their training and a person’s needs. A qualified healthcare professional can help determine what approach may be appropriate. Since not all therapists have ERP training, review each bio for OCD experience, listed therapy approaches, and details about the kinds of concerns they support.
Virginia Beach has a mix of local therapy offices and virtual options, which can help you compare therapists across the area without limiting your search to one neighborhood or commute. For OCD care, it helps to look beyond whether a therapist lists OCD as a specialty. Check whether they mention ERP, cognitive behavioral therapy for OCD, or structured work with obsessions and compulsions. You can also compare appointment availability, whether they offer a free phone consultation, and how they describe their communication style before booking.
Therapy in Virginia Beach can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated price before your first appointment. Headway helps you find OCD therapists who are accepting new patients, review their bios, check insurance coverage, and book directly when you’re ready.
