Atlanta couples can access affordable relationship therapy through Headway's network of 719 licensed providers. Whether addressing communication issues, trust concerns, or life transitions, find a therapist whose approach resonates with you across the city.
Life can often feel like a series of overwhelming transitions, leaving you feeling disconnected or unsure of your next step. I provide a dedicated space for adults (22+) to slow down, reflect, and move forward with renewed clarity.
Whether you are navigating the complexities of trauma, managing a mood disorder, or facing significant life changes, my goal is to help you transform "feeling stuck" into a journey of intentional growth.
How We Will Work Together
My approach is relational, honest, and depth-oriented. Rather than just addressing surface-level symptoms, we will explore the unspoken beliefs and past experiences that quietly shape your daily life. By learning to listen to what your emotions are communicating, you can begin to respond to life’s challenges in ways that promote genuine healing and authentic connection.
Specialized Support for Couples
In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in marriage and pre-marital counseling. I help couples at all stages build resilient foundations, repair emotional disconnections, and foster a deeper sense of intimacy and mutual understanding.
**Please note: While I accept insurance for individual therapy, all couples counseling is private-pay only. Insurance does not cover relationship-focused therapy.
Your Journey Starts Here
You deserve a space where you are fully seen, heard, and empowered. No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to support you in creating meaningful, lasting change.
Hi, I’m Cindy and I want you to know this: you don’t have to go through it alone. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply tired of carrying it all, therapy can be a space to exhale, reflect, and gently begin again.
I come to this work not only as a clinician but as a human being shaped by my own lived experience. I’m a proud Trinidadian-American who migrated to the U.S. at a young age, and I know what it’s like to navigate different worlds, expectations, and identities. That background helps me show up with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and deep respect for the unique path each client walks.
I’m currently pursuing my Doctorate in Social Work at Simmons University, and my clinical experience has focused on supporting adults through anxiety, trauma, life transitions, burnout, and issues related to identity and belonging. I have a special heart for clients who are used to being the strong ones, the caregivers, the first-gen trailblazers, the ones who hold space for everyone else.
In our work together, you can expect warmth, honesty, and collaboration. I use a relational and strengths-based approach, integrating tools from CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, but more importantly, I meet you where you are, honoring your pace and your story.
This is your space to feel seen, to feel safe, and to explore what healing could look like for you. If you’re ready to begin, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi, I’m Samantha Maybern, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals and families feel supported, understood, and empowered. I have experience working with children, adults, and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, life transitions, and relationship stress. My mother taught me and my brothers from a very young age not to ever hate anyone. Her words have been invaluable to me. My father instilled in us boys a mantra that too has served me well. He said to us innumerable times "Listen." Neither of my parents were strict disciplinarians, and they never used corporal punishment. But, from boyhood, through adolescence and into young adulthood, my brothers and I could count on a well-deserved lecture and extra chores if either of my parents ever caught us breaking one of these rules. My parents' philosophy helped steer me into my life's work, and I employ their beliefs daily in my career as a therapist. I believe people seek counseling so they can be accepted, validated and heard. I committed to myself long ago to never hate and to always listen to my patients/clients/consumers, regardless of their behaviors.Validation, empowerment and dignity are what I strive to create, cultivate and reap in every therapeutic alliance into which I enter.

Atlanta has a large and diverse provider community, which means more options but also more decisions. Consider what matters most: whether you prefer in-person sessions in neighborhoods like Buckhead, Sandy Springs, or Decatur, or the flexibility of virtual appointments. Reading a provider's bio can give you a sense of their style and specialties before you commit to a session.
Couples therapy in Atlanta can be expensive out of pocket, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before booking. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit — making it easier to find a couples therapist who is both the right fit and covered by your plan.
