I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing individual therapy with a focus on chronic illness (such as celiac, IBD, etc). I also specialize in supporting clients navigating endometriosis, PCOS, POTS, chronic fatigue, fertility challenges, and hormonal mood disorders. With research experience in PMDD and personal experience advocating for women’s health, I offer a validating, collaborative space for those facing chronic symptoms and medical dismissal. While I no longer practice couple's therapy, I’m passionate about helping my clients feel understood, empowered, and supported on their healing journey.
Vulnerability to hurt, disappointment, sadness, and grief are a normal part of the human experience. In trying to make sense of these struggles, we often turn them inward, forming painful beliefs about ourselves and the world that can shape our relationships and sense of self.
I believe that a genuine, authentic therapist-client relationship has the power to heal. I'm not looking to "fix" my clients, but instead become a fellow traveler in their therapeutic process. We will work collaboratively to identify and remove both conscious and unconscious barriers that may be keeping you stuck, moving you toward a life that is meaningful, authentic, and purposeful. This may involve offering new ideas and techniques, or identifying and shifting unhelpful patterns, transforming them into more adaptive behaviors. In this safe, judgment-free space, you can reconnect to who you truly are.
I completed my graduate studies at New York University's Silver School of Social Work and have worked in both private practice where I served adult individuals and couples, and community-based settings, focused on protecting families and strengthening secure attachments. These experiences have shaped my deep respect for the ways people adapt to early relational environments—and how those adaptations can later create both resilience and pain.
I work with individuals facing depression, anxiety, OCD, relational challenges, attachment wounds, family of origin issues, patterns rooted in early family dynamics and the intergenerational effects of trauma on parenting and relationships, including narcissistic abuse.
I hold a special interest in those impacted by the issues faced by adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families.
I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and have spent my postgraduate career working in private practice. I have particular experience in working with folks struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties and self-image.
Hello I have been a practicing therapist for 20 years. I received my Masters degree from Buffalo University in 2005. I continue to receive and seek education to further my skill set.
My name is Lamar Gilmore and I'm a licensed clinical therapist with over two decades of inpatient and outpatient experience working with adolescents, adults and families. I specialize in helping clients to improve their insight by using a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy with a trauma informed approach to minimizing stress and anxiety. By working together, my intentions are to help clients to learn coping skills that create positive changes in their life. I also specialize in issues related to substance use and abuse.
Do you find yourself repeating the same choices, feeling stuck in your relationships and personal goals? Are you curious about how these patterns developed and how your past affects your present? Together, we can explore these questions and help you create the life you desire.
