Are you... A young adult struggling in the attempt to to navigate life transitions, school, the workforce, family life or other issues?
Or a couple having trouble finding the right words to communicate and find expression in your relationship?
You can thrive.
Hi! I’m Hudi Kowalsky, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a passion to help teens and young adults find meaning and purpose in their lives.
How my practice is different:
Goal Focused Therapy. I believe in short, goal-focused therapy. That’s why, we set goals and together we hit the ground running. If you put in the work, you’ll see results within 12 weeks. I know that’s a bold statement, but my past clients can attest to that.
Client Feedback. I check in periodically on your thoughts about the process. I want to hear from you, what’s working? What isn’t? Is there anything that you’d like to see different? And then I tweak it accordingly.
I know it can be hard to find the right therapist. Maybe you think it’s only for people with “serious” issues. Maybe you’ve been to a few therapists but you didn’t see change and you’re wondering what another therapist can offer you. Maybe you’re afraid of what people will think of you if you go to therapy. Maybe you’re not sure therapy is worth the investment.
I understand. That’s why I’m here to answer any questions you may have prior to booking an intake session.
I am a New York State licensed clinical social worker who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy with extensive training in psychotherapy. I work with teens, adults, families and couples, treating issues including anxiety, depression, loss and addiction. In addition to a social work degree from New York University, I also trained at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in its Family and Couples Treatment therapy program.
I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space for self-exploration, discovery, and healing. By utilizing unconditional positive acceptance, my goal is to help clients add to their social and emotional knowledge so they can navigate through difficulties in ways that foster self-esteem, well-being, and growth.
Introduce yourself to help prospective clients learn about you and your practice. We recommend including your professional background, education and any specific treatment areas you specialize in.
Hello and welcome to my practice. I specialize in treating young adults who’ve experienced anxiety, trauma, and OCD. I’m level 1 trained in IFS and have extensive training in depth psychology.
I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2002. Having worked in healthcare and academic settings, I appreciate being part of a treatment team and am available to coordinate care with other providers when beneficial. Rather than see 'how many problems' a person may be facing... I see 'how many ways things can get better'. I value working with folks to see their puzzle from a different angle and to use tools to clarify, change and improve the picture.

I began practicing as a mental health counselor in 2013 and have worked with adults, adolescents, families and couples struggling with disorders ranging from depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, to borderline personality disorder. My practice is informed by Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — both evidence-based interventions that help clients make positive changes in behaviors and build coping skills and strategies to live more fully. I help clients build their own strengths to make change possible. I received my MA in Counseling in 2012 from Maryville University in St. Louis and am licensed in both New York State and Missouri. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a public relations and marketing executive and business consultant. I hold a Masters degree in German and speak German fluently.
