I am a License Mental Health Counselor in New York that works with marital counseling clients and those experiencing relationship issues and who are struggling with their sense of self confidence. My ideal client is someone who is committed to the process of self-introspection and wants to be held accountable to reach their goals. I specialize in counseling women and men on self-esteem, worth & actualization. I also support clients affected by bullying, narcissistic abuse as well as those dealing with complicated grief. This is my first career; it has always been my dream to help people. I never envisioned doing anything else in life. I’ve worked in a myriad of settings, ranging from satellite clinics based on early educational settings to social adult daycares (and everything else in between, including hospitals and intensive day treatment). I have completed training to be able to work in these settings, including courses on TF-CBT, motivational interviewing, and mental health first aid.

I believe our mental health is deeply shaped by the relationships and support systems around us. In therapy, we’ll work together to build on your strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful progress toward your goals.

I have been helping people finding solutions to complex problems for more than 20 years. I have a wealth of experience with individuals across the life span and the many challenges we face at various stages of life.
There was a time when I felt trapped by anxiety, depression, and overwhelm. I spent years feeling like I was constantly reacting to the world around me—easily overwhelmed, shutting down, and unsure how to move forward. I was living in a hypervigiliant state - always on edge, feeling unsafe in relationships and in my aloneness. This was also followed with depressive states followed by shame and guilt. Working with a Practitioner in Somatic Experiencing has transformed my emotional well being by helping my brain and body recognize safety and reducing my sensitivity to unpleasant sensations and arousal. I now feel more in control, I welcome unpleasant bodily sensations when they show up, and feel more safe in my body.

Headway makes it easier to find support for overcoming addiction — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding addiction therapists in Yonkers starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. Addiction care can include support for alcohol use, substance use, prescription drug concerns, gambling, or other behavioral patterns. As you compare therapists, look for experience with approaches such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy for substance use, harm reduction, and relapse prevention. Some people also work with a prescriber as part of their care team, so it can help to choose a therapist who understands care coordination.
Yonkers has local therapy options, and nearby access to the broader New York metro area can widen your search. Virtual appointments can also expand your options if local availability, commute time, or scheduling makes in-person care harder to fit into your week. Recovery can involve changes over time, so look for a therapist who uses a nonjudgmental approach and has experience with harm reduction frameworks. Reading therapist bios can help you understand how they describe their style, what addiction-related concerns they list, and whether they offer a free phone consultation before booking.
Therapy in Yonkers can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search for addiction therapists who are accepting new patients, review detailed bios, check your insurance, and see estimated out-of-pocket costs before you book. From there, you can compare virtual and in-person options and book directly when you’re ready.
