Hello, I’m Chido and thank you for your commitment in engaging in treatment. I understand that seeking support can be a meaningful and sometimes difficult step, and I approach each client with compassion and genuine care. I have experience in working with adults, children, and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, grief, family and relationship issues.
I have been counseling since graduating from CALU in 2014. My clients have been in varied settings including groups, individual and couple. I use a trauma-informed approach and utilize evidence based practice.
With more than 30 years of clinical experience, I provide therapy grounded in empathy, insight, and professionalism. I am known for being an engaged listener and for creating a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported without judgment. I'm a graduate of the University of Cincinnati Masters Clinical Social Work School, the University of Cincinnati's Medical School Family Therapy Institute, EMDR Consulting Licensure. My background includes extensive meditation experience and enables me to meet clients with flexibility, depth, and understanding.
I have served OH and MI areas for over 2 decades. Once specializing in children, now I enjoy working with preteens, teens, and adults who can participate more actively in their treatment. I started specializing in trauma in 2016 after I completed extensive training.
My name is Queen Watson (yes that's my real name) and I’m a Cincinnati, OH native. I attended The Ohio State University for my bachelor's degree in psychology and obtained my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. As a Black therapist, I take pride in providing a safe space for individuals to address the impact of a system that villainizes those experiencing side effects of the human condition and directly challenge the stereotype of what therapists should look or act like. My ideal clients are adults experiencing or seeking: identify affirming care (i.e., LGBT+, BIPOC), ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, seeking stronger intra- and interpersonal relationships, intense anger, and mood disorders.
