Let’s be honest—starting therapy or entering treatment can feel intimidating. But the fact that you’re here already says so much about your strength and determination. My focus is on making sure you feel safe, understood, and empowered as we figure out the next steps together.
Hello, I'm Valerie!
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Montana and Ohio with a decade of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping people reconnect with their authentic selves.
I founded Wild Living Therapy not only because of my deep love for wildlife and nature but also because I believe we all carry untamed, misunderstood aspects of ourselves—parts that may feel "too wild" or difficult to accept. My goal is to create a space where you can honor these parts, step into your power, and recognize your worth.
You're not broken—you are whole. Let’s navigate this journey together.
Hello, I am a dual certified Nurse Practitioner with board certifications in Women's health and Psychiatric Mental health. I work with women, moms, and adults who are dealing with anxiety, ADHD, depression, and the emotional ups and downs that come with stress, life changes, or motherhood. Many of my clients feel misunderstood, easily triggered, or frustrated with how their emotions are affecting their relationships, focus, or daily life.
I specialize in helping clients navigating trauma, anxiety, panic disorder, depression, LGBTQ+ issues, grief, & much more. I earned my MSW from New York University in 2011 and have worked as a forensic social worker in NYC at The Legal Aid Society & have also worked with Gay Men's Health Crisis, Services for the Underserved, Footsteps & Office of the Appellate Defender. I moved to Los Angeles in 2017 and have been in private practice since 2018.
I have been a clinician for over 25 years, work with clients to try to figure out what is needed now and am willing to do that with you
I am a very open-minded therapist. I have worked with a large range of different people in different settings. I have worked with kiddos from age 4 to adults aged 70+ and have found what works best for each individual I work with. I studied my undergrad at Cleveland State University and got my masters at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. After, I worked school-base, home-based, as well as within the workers comp world so have worked with a little of everything!
I enjoy working with people who are interested in returning to the truth of who they are. I value people. Intuition is often within my work with people. I am honored to walk with people in their orientation to healing and health in the ways important to them. Harmony in mind, body, and spirit.
A holistic trauma informed approach with a culturally grounded orientation to care is my offering. I love to incorporate breath work and somatic work in with talk therapy all while centering values.
I respect the courage of getting to this point. It’s reasonable that we all would benefit from support so I am happy to walk you home to you, the truth of you that deserves liberation, healing and health because your life has value and I’m so glad you’re here. You deserve it all.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Toledo starts with getting clear on what kind of support you're looking for. Common reasons people seek therapy include anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions — and many providers in the Toledo area specialize in one or more of these areas. Whether you're looking for individual therapy, couples counseling, or care for a specific concern, choosing a licensed provider (such as an LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or psychologist) with relevant experience can make a meaningful difference.
Beyond specialty, consider the practical details that affect whether you'll stick with care. Location matters — Toledo residents in neighborhoods like Old West End, West Toledo, and the University area may prefer a nearby in-person office, while others may find virtual sessions more convenient. Scheduling flexibility, provider communication style, and whether a provider is accepting new patients are all worth weighing as you compare options.
Therapy in Toledo can be expensive without insurance, but affordable options are available when you use in-network coverage. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and your out-of-pocket cost may be as low as $0 per session — though costs vary based on your location and exact plan. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, so you know what to expect upfront.
