Some of my passions include working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks. I enjoy working with individuals and couples. I have additional training on Emotion Focused Therapy allowing me to connect with attachment needs and help heal through establishing a secure attachment in relationships.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in the Austin area helping parents and children overcome emotional and behavioral challenges. Services are provided in-home and in the community.
I believe everyone has the capacity to heal. My own therapy helped me to trust in myself and others and I strive to build this trust with you.
My communication style is warm and direct as I first hear your story and then help you slow down. Together we’ll work to understand your emotions. Joy, anger, sadness and fear are messages to inform your life and how you want to be living. Therapy can help you decipher these feelings and get unstuck.
Before starting my private practice, I worked for several years as a middle and elementary school social worker. I hold a Masters degree in Social Work from Texas State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University. I continuously seek out opportunities to learn and grow so that I can provide the best service to you.
I am a mother of two, native Austinite, and coffee aficionado (read addict). I love walking my dogs and speaking Spanish as often as I can.
Not all wounds are visible, therapy is a way to heal from within. I provide psychotherapy and holistic support to help address anxiety, anger, addiction, depression, work stress, relationship conflicts or adjusting to the challenges of life. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties. I believe healing happens when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your experiences without judgment while building the tools needed to create lasting change.
I welcome EVERYONE to my practice. I hope your experience working with me is affirming, safe and empowering. I have been working in the mental health field for 20 years and specialize in trauma treatment. I utilize different therapy modalities for different people but love incorporating EMDR in my work.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Licensed Chemcial Dependency Counselor with 11 years of experience. I am a trauma-trained and imformed therapist. I specialize in the field of addiction and recovery for both the identified substance user and family and relations affected. I specialize in the integration of 12 step faciliation and CBT skills.
After 15 years in tech marketing, I went to the University of Texas at Arlington to earn my Master's in Social Work. Upon graduation, I worked toward my clinical license at a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. Here, I worked with clients with severe mental health problems to find stability and gain the tools necessary to find success in life after program. This setting allowed me to work across the full spectrum of mental health issues, specifically with mood and personality disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, psychosis, and other high-acuity issues.
I’m a therapist who shows up — fully. I don’t sit back and just listen; I stay engaged, ask thoughtful (sometimes direct) questions, and work collaboratively to help you move forward. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely seen, valued, and supported in our work together — like they matter. That’s not an accident. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful tool for healing.
I also bring lived experience into the room. As a gay man and someone who has worked through complex trauma personally, I understand the importance of safe, affirming, and spacious therapy. I know what it means to carry parts of yourself that have long been hidden, and I consider it a privilege to support others in exploring theirs.
I'm Brad and I'm a therapist in North Austin who specializes in treating PTSD, depression, and anxiety. My style has been described as compassionate, mindful, and relational. My primary modality is Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a structured intervention which treats PTSD by challenging unproductive beliefs generated by the traumatic event.
