Hello,
I am Dr. Jaeger and I welcome you to my practice. I look forward to sitting with you, hearing your story, and developing a plan to help you with your concerns and needs.
As a therapist that is informed by relational therapy, I believe we don't only heal with therapeutic strategies and techniques; we also heal in relationships and communities with one another. This means that my number one priority as your therapist is to develop a trusting and meaningful connection with you where you feel safe, seen, and regarded. My communication style varies from person to person because there is not one single way to show up and be present as a therapist.
Teryn Leaper has a Masters in Counseling
Psychology from Mount Saint Mary's University.
She is currently board certified with the BBS in
California and BHEC in Texas.
Teryn has been spent the last decade in Los
Angeles and has been living in Texas for the last
year. Outside of work Teryn likes to read, write
short stories and poems and knit.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions! I am also experienced in supporting individuals facing relationship challenges, identity development, and difficulties with emotional regulation. As a Queer therapist, I'm passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ population. I am drawn to this work because I value the depth and resilience within each person’s story. My approach is grounded in attachment-based theory and informed by evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Thank you for considering me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California where I studied Adult Mental Health an Wellness and Military Social Work. I specialize in the Veteran and First Responder populations.
I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles and love this work. I came to therapy through an unconventional path — nearly a decade in film and photography, work as a youth counselor, and service in the military — all of which deeply shaped how I understand people and their stories.
I earned my master's degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I focused on psychodynamic and depth-oriented approaches. My thesis centered on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, a specialty I've continued developing through advanced trainings I've completed.
I work with individuals, couples, adolescents & families across a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a particular love for working with creative professionals, veterans and young adults. I'm LGBTQ+ affirmative and love working with folks from the queer community.
My practice spans traditional talk therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) — including psychedelic integration support for those processing experiences outside of our work together. I see clients in person in Atwater Village in Northeast LA, and virtually throughout California.

Headway makes it easier to connect with affirming therapists who understand your identity — from finding the right therapist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding an LGBTQIA+-affirming therapist in Fremont starts with knowing what kind of support you're looking for. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or questions about gender identity or sexual orientation, look for a licensed provider — such as an LMFT, LCSW, psychologist, or psychiatrist — who has specific experience with LGBTQIA+ communities. A provider's bio can tell you a lot about their approach, training, and the populations they work with, so take time to read through profiles before reaching out.
Fremont is home to a diverse population, and many providers in the area offer both in-person and virtual sessions to fit different schedules and comfort levels. If you're in a nearby community like Newark, Union City, or Hayward, virtual sessions can expand your options. A free phone consultation is a practical way to gauge whether a provider feels like the right fit — you can ask about their experience with LGBTQIA+ concerns and get a sense of their style before committing to a full session.
Therapy in the Bay Area can be expensive, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most reliable ways to lower your out-of-pocket costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance information to see estimated session costs before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. That makes it easier to find a provider who is both affirming and affordable.
