Welcome! I’m a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), passionate about providing holistic, solution-oriented care to individuals of all ages. I earned my degree from the University of South Alabama, and my approach is rooted in compassion, active listening, and evidence-based treatment tailored to your unique needs.
I specialize in medication management and psychotherapy for a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. Whether you’re a child, young adult, or part of the older adult population, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where healing and growth can thrive.
I believe in treating the whole person, not just symptoms. Together, we’ll develop a personalized plan to help you regain balance and move forward with confidence. I look forward to supporting you on your mental wellness journey!
I’m a therapist who understands how difficult it can be to open up—and how meaningful the right support can be. I care deeply about creating a space grounded in honesty, trust, and genuine connection. My approach is warm, compassionate, and straightforward, and I shape each session around your unique needs rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I’m here to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as you grow.
I am a highly skilled therapist with a strong focus on trauma therapy, substance abuse, and mental health. I hold dual licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and as an Associate Clinical Counselor. My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from William Jessup University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from California State University, Chico.
Welcome, I'm glad you're here.
I’m Bechael S. Harris, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 27 years of nursing experience. I provide care for adults and older adults navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other mental health concerns. My practice blends compassion, evidence-based treatment, and a commitment to helping each person feel heard, valued, and supported.
For the past six years, I have been providing therapy to individuals as part of my clinical training as a clinical psychologist. I have had the privilege of supporting people through challenges related to substance use, codependency, anxiety, depression, trauma, and struggles with self-confidence and self-esteem. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow, heal, and reconnect with themselves.
I completed my Master's in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field varying from community youth work, psychiatric inpatient nursing, and counseling. I became licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist in April 2023, accruing over 4 years of experience providing psychotherapy to clients in the LGBTQ and immigrant communities navigating mood, identity, and relationships.
I work with individual adults and certain families who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, sad, lonely, sensitive, anxious, or defeated. If you're feeling heavy by everything going on, or feeling frantic, or having conflict in your relationships or are just feeling lost in any way, I would love to see if I can help! I also work with family units going through transition or strain, such as conflict between a parent and their adult child, or supporting parents who are experiencing difficult things with their child or teen.
I have a lot of experience helping people through loss, whether it's a breakup, losing a job, or a loved one - including loss of a pet, which is a specialty of mine. I have special interest in supporting other therapists, and also community organizers and activists who are engaged in social justice work. Many of my clients are trans or NB, and others are gay, lesbian, or queer. Poly and kink affirming.
I offer telehealth services to clients in California, Idaho, Washington, or Virginia.
I was always drawn to people who went unseen or unheard. Others told me I had a calm voice and that they could tell me anything. That led to a lifelong study of how people free themselves from their own patterns, later deepened by psychoanalysis and professional work in eating disorders, addiction treatment, and managed care settings like Kaiser.
