As a diversely trained therapist, I know that caring for our mental health is as crucial as caring for our physical health. I have been working for four years in a clinical setting with complex trauma and have specifically focused on anxiety, depression, ADHD and PTSD. I know that starting talking about mental health and beginning therapy can be intimidating and look forward to working in a comforting and personalized approach.
I love helping people develop skills to improve their lives, communication and relationships. It is important to know that one theory does not meet everyone’s needs, therefore I use many different approaches to helping my clients to build their own best version of themselves.
Dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 27 years of healthcare experience.
Therapy is about you. It is about feeling and doing better. It is about your life and moving beyond challenges that hold you back from being confident and whole.
At the core of any useful therapy is the relationship, and I know it is an important decision to find just the right person to come along side you on your journey through life's challenges. As such, I work to establish a safe and comfortable space for you to explore solutions and future directions.
I have over 30 years of direct clinical experience. I work remotely at this time, and blend cognitive behavioral techniques with psychodynamic techniques, including dream work (if interested). I work with adults with a wide range of challenges. I cannot make your anxiety disappear; however, I can help you change your relationship to it.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of CO. I was raised in San Diego, CA, and received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. I prioritize a generalist approach that prepares me to work effectively with a very wide range of concerns in therapy, and I have specializations in providing compassionate crisis services as well as behavioral health support in medical settings.
