My name is Laura and I am here to help you find peace and healing in your life. I studied clinical social work at Boston College. Over my career I have worked with people facing difficult life changes, anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, parenting difficulties, grief among many other challenges. I have a specialty working with those with type 1 diabetes, or those parenting a child with type 1 diabetes.
Through the world of therapy, I hope to bring more education and support to pregnant and postpartum people. My style of counseling is positive, person-centered and solution-focused. I believe that the most important part of perinatal mental health is prevention; entering into therapy prior to or during pregnancy is the most effective way to process birth and postpartum. I will provide a safe and soothing environment for all of my clients to work through their identified needs. I also have training in working with college-aged students and specifically athletes. I am licensed in both MA and CT.
I believe it is important to establish therapy for moms to be and received continued support through pregnancy and postpartum. I also work with moms who experienced miscarriages and infant loss. I am also able to support college students through early adulthood transitions, sports and relationships.
If you are in the beginning stages of planning for a family or you are postpartum, I am here to support you through these transitions. I also have extensive work with family systems so even older children and parenting support. Currently I am working on an athletic college campus so I am opening private practice to college students as well.
Great to meet you!
Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, so if you’re here, you’ve already taken a really meaningful first step.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating a variety of challenges. I specialize in working with addiction, couples and relationship concerns, family dynamics, autism-related support, and anxiety and depression.
My background includes working in both school systems and clinical settings, which has given me the opportunity to support people from many different backgrounds and life stages. Through this work, I’ve developed a strong passion for helping people better understand the patterns within their relationships and families.
Many of the clients I work with are trying to improve communication with a partner or family member, navigate the impact of addiction, support a loved one on the autism spectrum, or manage feelings of anxiety and depression that are affecting daily life.
No matter what brings you to therapy, my goal is to create a space that feels supportive, honest, and human; where you can show up exactly as you are without fear of judgment.
Hello! My name is Samantha Vamosy and I am so happy you are interested in working together. I know starting a therapy process whether you have before or this is your first time can be scary and uncomfortable. I hope we can work through this time together making this journey as helpful and special as possible. My passions have always aligned with helping others and listening in a compassionate, non-judgmental, and curious way. I find real change occurs when a person can fully explore their life in a holistic way. Whether it is current mental health symptoms or past traumas holistic healing is possible for everyone. I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Fairfield University and achieved my LPC after completing 3000 hours in an outpatient clinic for substance abuse.
