Hi, I’m Nikki — owner of Dragonfly Haven Wellness LCSW PLLC. I’m looking forward to starting our work together.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, earned in 2003. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens, adults, and families through life’s challenges in both outpatient and school-based mental health settings.
I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. My approach is warm and collaborative, while also helping to point out connections to support your growth. I draw from a blend of psychodynamic therapy, relational approaches, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and Encompass co-occurring treatment to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change.
I’ve recently competed a certified integrative mental health provider course to focus more on body-based approaches alongside traditional talk therapy to support healing as a whole-person process.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to do it alone. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are.
I have been working in healthcare since 2007, working as a certified nursing assistant taking care of elderly patients in long term care facilities and home care. I later graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2008 and continued to work in long term care facilities caring for the elderly. I graduated as a Registered Nurse from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and went on to taking care of patients ranging from young adults to geriatric with acute conditions, stable chronic conditions and complex medical conditions. In 2018, I graduated as a Nurse Practitioner and worked with patients post cardiac surgery, critically ill patient in the intensive care unit and a mix of neurology, neurosurgery, general surgery, vascular surgery and medically unstable psychiatric patients. After experiencing postpartum, with my extensive medical background, I decided to pursue a degree in Psychiatry to help more people goring through what I went through. I graduated with my PMHNP from Western Connecticut State University in 2025. Through my education, I was able to provide care for patients, both stable and acute, with depression, ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, and mood disorders.
Life can be a lot. Between juggling work, friends and family life, anxiety and sadness can sneak up on you. Therapy isn’t about lying on a couch while someone silently nods, it’s about having a real convo with someone who gets it. Together, we’ll work together out how to quiet the noise, boost your mental health, and build habits that make life feel less like survival mode and more like you actually living it. Life throws curveballs — and when we don’t fully process them, they can sneakily pile up as stress, anxiety, or that heavy feeling you just can’t shake. That’s where therapy comes in.
My mission is simple: create a space where you can express yourself, shake off the weight you’ve been carrying, and explore who you’ve been, who you are, and who you want to become. A safe zone for real talk and growth. EMDR (a way of helping your brain re-file old memories so they don’t keep hitting the panic button), systems theory, person centered theory.
Therapy with me isn’t about lying on a couch in awkward silence. It’s modern, collaborative, sometimes even a little fun — because growth doesn’t always have to feel heavy. I’m open-minded yet structured and here to make the process feel less like a chore and more like a genuine reset.
For insurances I do not accept: Out of network provider: 4 questions to ask insurance representative: Does your plan include "out-of-network" coverage for mental health? What is your annual deductible for mental health benefits? What is your co-insurance? (What percentage does the plan cover?) Is there a limit on sessions?

At the core of my practice is my work with African Americans, addressing colorism and internalized racism and how it affect your interpersonal relationships. Helping clients recognize how the complexion of your skin plays a role in who you become, how you are viewed and how it affects your mood.
My curiosity about substance abuse and family systems sparked my interest in this field, leading me to study substance abuse counseling, which eventually deepened my passion for psychology.
Over the years, I’ve worked in Connecticut alongside DCF and the court systems. Since starting as a case manager in 1995, I’ve continued to grow and gain valuable experience in this ever-evolving field of psychology.
My name is Jackson and I am a transgender man working as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Connecticut. I specialize in working with the LGBT+ community and those with complex trauma. Other topics relevant to my experience include crisis/suicidality, HIV, homelessness, substance use/addiction, harm reduction, and neurodivergence.
I also offer consultation sessions for mental health letters of support for gender affirming care (hormone therapy, surgery, hair removal, etc). I use WPATH standards of care to assess your situation and will provide a letter of support and/or help you to create a plan for further support if we identify any concerns. Keep in mind different doctors/insurances/states have differing laws regarding these letters and I may need to do research prior to writing your letter to ensure we do so correctly.
A significant portion of my work is facillitating change and helping clients gain more self awareness to address the problems in their lives that are bringing them to therapy. I've been a therapist since 2012. Time sure does fly. I started my career with the Department of Veteran Affairs and continued to work with veterans and their families for a significant portion of my career. I have since branched out into private practice. I specialize in supporting clients with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship problems, and family issues. I am trained in multiple evidence based therapies to help clients address their concerns and reach their goals. My approach is dependent on the problems or issues that we focus on for therapy. I am client-centered in my approach and strive to create a therapeutic environment and relationship that is founded in trust, genuineness and positive regard. I work closely with clients to help them connect with their values to gain insight, understanding and self-compassion.
Additionally, I have about 9 years of couples therapy under my belt. I primarily use EFT for couples, which focuses on helping the couple identify and change their conflict cycle, as well as strengthening the relationship bond. I also utilize some Gottman principles to help couples to develop healthy relationship habits.
I also work with a number of clients individually who seek out extra support to improve their relationship with their partner. Having skills in couples therapy and understanding conflict dynamics is really helpful to assist clients on a 1-1 basis to improve their relationship.
