My background spans community mental health, crisis stabilization, outpatient care, and hospital settings, so I've sat with a wide range of what people go through.

For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of sitting with people through some of life's hardest moments: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and the pain of racism and loss. I have experience working across high-acuity hospital settings, partial hospitalization programs, and community-based care, which allows me to support individuals through both everyday challenges and more complex clinical situations. I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville University. I’ve been at Wekiva Springs Center since 2022, and have experience with patients all over the spectrum from mood disorders, to substance abuse disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and psychotic disorders.

Hi, I’m Renée Rivers, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in South Florida. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, teens, and families navigating trauma, identity, and major life transitions. As a first-generation Haitian-American woman, I deeply understand the cultural and intergenerational layers that shape how we relate to ourselves and others. My clinical work is grounded in empathy, accountability, and authenticity, I create a space where you don’t have to explain “everything” because I hold space for complexity. I am especially passionate about helping clients unlearn survival patterns that no longer serve them and redefine success, connection, and rest on their own terms.

I’ve worked in school settings, community mental health agencies, and now lead my own private practice, Reflective Rivers Therapy & Consulting. I hold a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling with a specialization in Couples and Family Therapy.

I am a Doctorate level Clinical Psychologist and offer over 20 years of experience in working from an empathic, strength-based approach that is uniquely tailored to the needs of each person in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I have learned that there is not one approach when working with individuals. I have found that using a wide variety of techniques and skills that are tailored to your needs have been most successful. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) combined with mindfulness-based, therapeutic guidance and solution-focused based therapies have been most helpful.
