Hey there! My name is Nikki. I am excited to get to know you!
I support adults and teens living with the challenges of anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, PTSD and grief. Some of the challenges that we face in childhood/adolescence can impact us later in life. Hey! You’re seeking help because it is needed. That’s huge! Many people don’t seek treatment or therapy but you’re already on this path. Some folks don’t find the path. You’ve got some idea of what you need and are ready for someone to be along with you on this journey. We both know humans succeed in a team not so much when we are alone. First, give yourself credit because it takes a lot of courage to not do things alone and to be willing to open up to someone you do not know. Your courage is where our journey together starts. It would be an honor to be a part of your team in life, for life!
Reaching out can be hard and I am here to help begin the process of healing and being there to help us become a better you. My goal and desire is to help teach you and provide you the essentials to overcome your obstacles. When life gets overwhelming at times, we forget to take care of ourselves. Depression and anxiety does not have to be a part of your everyday life.
I am a licensed clinical social worker, meaning I studied both psychology and the context (environmental and social) that contributes to mental health challenges. Throughout my career, I've worked with those recovering from trauma and addiction. Most of my clients are healing from experiences of violence, abuse, sexual assault, and/or neglect. In an effort to address symptoms faster, I obtained training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
