Great to meet you. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I work to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. My approach is warm, holistic, and open-minded, and I believe care works best when it is personalized to your needs, goals, and day-to-day reality.
I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, sleep concerns, OCD, panic, eating concerns, and anger or impulse-related challenges. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for things to feel more manageable, my goal is to help you better understand what is going on and build a path forward that feels both realistic and empowering.
I believe that therapy works best when people feel understood, respected and safe. I have over 20 year of experience helping adults navigate trauma, depression, anxiety, identity exploration, grief/loss, life transitions and relationship challenges. Much of my career has been devoted to working with veterans and individuals who have faced difficult or traumatic experiences. I strongly believe in establishing a relationship of equals and mutual respect between therapist and client; one that leads to a guided journey of self-discovery and change.
You want more than symptom management. You're not just looking for coping strategies. You want to understand yourself. You want to grieve fully, not efficiently. You want a therapeutic relationship that can hold complexity, contradiction, and mystery. You want someone who won't rush you toward resolution before you're ready, and who trusts that you have within you what healing requires. You want to be seen, not diagnosed, not fixed, but genuinely witnessed.
I'm a licensed clinical professional counselor with over 25 years of experience, and grief is at the heart of my work. I understand grief not as a problem to be solved but as a profound human process, one that touches identity, relationship, body, and spirit all at once. I'm also a certified grief educator, which means I bring both clinical depth and real psychoeducational grounding to our work together.
I am an LCSW, and have been since 2014, and a LMSW for 2 years prior to that. I have a masters degree in Clinical Social work and work with individuals, couples and families. I work with those with anxiety, depression, communication issues, and most issues that we are going through currently.
Thank you for taking the first step in sharing your story—your Mental Health Matters, and you deserve to be heard, supported, and understood.

Searching for therapists in Schaumburg starts with finding the kind of support that fits your needs. A therapist may help with concerns like anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, or life transitions. As you compare Schaumburg therapists, look for someone whose listed specialties match what you want to focus on. Their profile can also show whether they use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, or couples counseling.
Schaumburg has local therapy options, but availability can vary by schedule, specialty, and whether you want to meet in person. Virtual therapy can expand your choices across Illinois, which may help if you need evening appointments, a specific therapeutic approach, or a therapist who is accepting new patients. Before booking, review each therapist’s bio for details on their communication style, session structure, free phone consultations, and experience with concerns like marriage counseling, family stress, or work-related stress.
Therapy in Schaumburg can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Nationally, Headway partners with a wide range of insurance plans, and you can verify your benefits to see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before you book. You can browse therapists in Schaumburg, review profiles, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're experiencing or worried about violence, threats, or coercion in your relationship, couples therapy isn't usually the right starting point — individual support is safer. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
