I am person centered and utilize an eclectic mix of therapeutic techniques including EMDR, IFS, ACT, and CBT. I have been practicing therapy for over 10 years and I have worked with a variety of ages and life stages.
I graduated in 2013 from Oakland University with a Master's in Counseling. My undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in English.
I have worked in substance abuse rehab facilities and prison, providing substance abuse counseling in group and individual sessions. I have also worked for community health agencies for different counties in Michigan, doing individual counseling, assisting clients with applying for benefits and providing various resources.
I work with individuals, adults aged 18 plus via telehealth. I work with all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, relationship structures, and religious/non-religious beliefs.
My top treatment areas are anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, LGBTQ+ issues.

I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Oakland University and my Master’s in Social Work from Madonna University. I have been a practicing social worker for four years, and during this time have received several certifications including: school social work, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools. Based on my experience, I specialize in working with adolescents and children; however, I am confident in my education and ability to help clients of all ages.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in working with teens and adults who are navigating challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. I am passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and develop a stronger sense of identity.
As a lifelong Missouri resident and educator, I am very familiar with the specifics that come with living in this area.

Some of my background...
After raising a blended family, I decided to go back to school and change careers. Therapy lets me combine two of my lifelong passions: helping others succeed and horses. I now divide my time fairly evenly between working with horses and providing therapy.
I graduated from Oakland University in 2021 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I worked with a non-profit group for a year before starting my practice in 2022.
Dr. Murphy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 40 years of experience in counseling individuals and families. She specializes in various areas of psychotherapy in including – Christian focused, Trauma focused, Addiction and recovery, Veteran PTSD and Military sexual trauma, depression/anxiety/bipolar disorder, Grief and victims of abuse.
