Hi, I’m Carllie Meeks, a licensed therapist specializing in eating disorders, body image, and identity work. I hold a Masters degree from Loyola University Chicago and have extensive experience supporting adults in their recovery through a culturally responsive and trauma-informed lens. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies with compassion and curiosity, helping clients reconnect with their bodies and sense of self. I’m especially passionate about creating affirming spaces for BIPOC individuals navigating healing and self-acceptance
My journey stems from my own story of resilience in the face of hardships. I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people through some of their darkest hours. Being exposed to some dark hours myself, I know that it is difficult to do it alone. When you have someone to confide in, assist you through the hard times, and just let you know that you are not alone, makes a difference.
My therapeutic approach includes CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Relational Therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, SFT, EFT, IFS, and just speaking like a human being. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. My approach is relational and personalized—we'll explore your story together, build coping tools, and move toward healing with curiosity, courage, and care.
Therapy with me is real, down-to-earth, and never boring. I mix honesty, humor, and heart to make the process comfortable. I help adults manage emotions, build confidence, and tackle life's challenges with tools that work. Think of it as a safe space to be yourself, grow, and maybe laugh along the way. You’re doing your best—but parenting can feel heavy. Maybe your child is having big emotions, struggling with anxiety, or acting out in ways that worry you. Maybe you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and wondering if you’re doing enough. You're not alone—and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. I work with moms and children (ages 3–17) who are navigating the hard stuff—anxiety, trauma, life changes, or just the emotional weight of everyday life. Whether your child needs support, or you do (or both), I provide a safe, compassionate space where healing begins and hope grows
You may be functioning well on the outside while quietly feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unable to slow down.
You may be the person others depend on while quietly feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. At Milton’s Place Counseling, therapy offers a supportive space to slow down, process what you are carrying, and identify practical next steps. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and major life transitions. You do not have to wait until you are in crisis to seek support.
If anxiety, depression, grief, or ongoing stress are making daily life feel harder, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with adolescents, adults, and families who feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Many parents seek support when they notice changes in their teen’s mood, behavior, school functioning, or communication, while adults often come to therapy feeling exhausted, disconnected, or weighed down by life transitions and relationship stress.
THE COOL, CALM, & COLLECTED COUNSELOR

I earned a B.A. in Psychology. My graduate education led to an M.A. in Counseling Psychology. I hold active licensures in Michigan, Ohio, and North Carolina. My experience includes licensures as a Clinical Supervisor in Substance Use & Addictions and an Independently Licensed Professional Counselor.
