Hello — I am Marlene Knerl and I look forward to meeting you. I moved to Nebraska from the west coast in the 1990s as a single mother with a desire to go to college and better our lives. I thought that Nebraska would allow for me to raise my two sons in a small town while simultaneously attending a University. First, I achieved a comprehensive degree in Psychology, then a MSed in Community Counseling.
Since becoming licensed as a counselor I have been working with individuals and families. Life can be difficult and helping people navigate the struggles is at times a challenge but nothing is more rewarding. I have always desired to help people and this profession has allowed for me to enact those intrinsic desires.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve what you desire.

Headway helps you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder with expert-guided support — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding OCD therapists in Omaha starts with looking for training that matches obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and related stress. Exposure and response prevention, often called ERP, is one therapy approach some therapists use to support people living with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and many people search for therapists who list this modality directly in their profiles. Since not all therapists who work with OCD have specific ERP training, reviewing specialties, approaches, and bio details can help you understand whether a therapist’s experience fits what you want to address.
Omaha has a mid-sized mental health care market, so you may find a mix of local office options and virtual appointments across the area. In-person OCD therapy near you may be a good fit if location, commute, and a consistent office setting matter to you. Virtual care can expand your options if you want more scheduling flexibility or prefer to search beyond nearby offices. As you compare therapists, look at appointment availability, whether they offer a free phone consultation, and how clearly they describe OCD care in their bio. A therapist who lists OCD as a focus area may differ from one who names ERP training or structured OCD experience, so that detail is worth checking before you book.
Therapy in Omaha can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make ongoing care easier to plan for. Headway helps you find therapists who are accepting new patients, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and compare virtual and in-person options in one place. You can browse OCD therapists in Omaha, review bios, confirm insurance details, and book directly when you’re ready.
