I believe healing begins in a space where you feel safe and understood. My approach is compassionate and grounded in strong clinical experience, guided by genuine care and respect for each person’s story. I bring a calm, steady presence to every session and see therapy as a collaborative process, one that helps you build awareness, strength, and lasting change.
I am a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional with a strong passion for helping individuals navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and personal growth. I hold a Master’s degree in General Family Therapy and a Master’s degree in Psychology specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Since 2015, I have worked in the psychology and behavioral health field serving diverse populations across various clinical settings.
Throughout my professional experience, I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, stress, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, self-esteem difficulties, relationship concerns, grief, and life transitions. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, families, and individuals from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
I value authenticity, empathy, and meaningful human connection in therapy. I believe healing begins when individuals feel emotionally safe and supported while learning practical tools to improve emotional wellness and daily functioning. Outside of my professional work, I appreciate creativity, mindfulness, personal growth, and the importance of maintaining balance and self-care in everyday life.
Graduated from Boise State Graduate School after receiving my undergrad at Lewis Clark State College. I lived in Vegas for 8 years and am now located in the Greater Seattle Area. I am a Native American but love learning about all other cultures and lifestyles. I have worked for CCSD (elementary) for the past 7 years, but now I'm looking forward to working with all ages. :) I specialize in working with people struggling with OCD.
Two decades of clinical excellence.
Dr. Cindy Ruelas-Tafolla's path to becoming a clinician began at age 13 with the sudden loss of her father — an experience that planted the seed of her life's purpose: to be the kind of support she needed during her own darkest moments.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society from UC Santa Barbara, her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and her Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from USC.
Over two decades, she has served as a Medical Social Worker, Case Manager, and Behavioral Health Therapist — bringing doctoral-level depth, board-certified credentials, and genuine compassion to every client she works with.
I have my Masters in Psychology from New York University and am Nationally Board Certified as a counselor. Currently taking clients in New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware.
I have experience with a diverse population of clients, and extensive experience working with emerging adults (18-25), couples, families and adults of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, I also have experience with creative professionals in music/art fields, working with Backline Care.
Please note, I do not accept insurance for couples therapy.
I have almost 20 years of experience working with couples and individuals of all backgrounds. Outside of this, I have quite extensive training in working with healthcare professionals, spirituality, and substance abuse. I hold my masters in both divinity and couple & family therapy, and am trained in postmodern clinical approaches.

Headway helps you find expert-guided support for every stage of motherhood — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding postpartum therapists in Las Vegas starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. Postpartum concerns can include postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, birth-related stress, identity shifts, and relationship strain. As you compare therapists, look for training and listed specialties that match what you want to address. A therapist with perinatal experience or a perinatal mental health certification, sometimes listed as PMH-C, may have more specialized training in pregnancy and postpartum care.
Las Vegas has many therapy options, and the number of choices can make it harder to narrow your search. New parents may also need to factor in unpredictable schedules, infant care, physical recovery, and commute time to an office. Virtual appointments can make care more accessible when getting across the city is hard to plan. Before booking, review therapist profiles for availability, session format, approach, and whether they offer a free phone consultation, so you can get a clearer sense of fit.
Therapy in Las Vegas can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you find postpartum therapists, check estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront, and book directly when you’re ready after confirming coverage for your specific plan and location.
