Hello and welcome—I'm so glad you're here.
My name is Shanna Gardner, LPC-S, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I'm deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover a sense of peace, purpose, and emotional wellness.
I believe that therapy should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and truly understood. Whether you're dealing with overwhelming stress, navigating a tough life transition, or managing symptoms of anxiety or depression, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Welcome to This Space. I am a doctoral level clinician with a variety of mental health experience. I started out in community mental health agencies working with psychiatrists to treat depression, anxiety, ptsd, and schizophrenia in teens and adults. I have since transitioned to private practice where I help clients, mostly adults work through grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and stress management.
Who am I? What do I want? And how do I move forward from here? These are the questions that bring many people to therapy—and the questions I’m passionate about exploring. I’m Ron Saenz, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Houston. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through both insight and embodied experience. I draw from neuroscience, somatic awareness, and the wisdom of practices like meditation, yoga, martial arts, and flow states to help clients reconnect with themselves in deeper, more meaningful ways.
Greetings, I am a therapist in private practice for over fifteen years. I am dually licensed as a mental health therapist and an addictions therapist.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Houston starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider whether you want help with a specific concern — such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or a major life change — or whether you're looking for general support. Licensed therapists (including LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, and psychologists) each bring different training and specialties. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their approach and decide if they might be a good match.
Houston is one of the largest cities in the country, and the number of providers practicing across the metro area can make the search feel overwhelming. Narrowing by practical factors — like whether you prefer in-person sessions in your part of town or virtual appointments from home — can help you build a shorter list faster. Many providers on Headway offer both options, and you can review real-time availability and book directly.
Therapy in Houston can be costly without insurance. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay per session. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a therapist who fits both your clinical needs and your budget.
