You replay conversations long after they're over. You shut down or say too much, then spend the day wishing you hadn't. You're not bad at relationships. You're anxious in them. You hold back. You give in to keep the peace, then quietly resent it. You want to be closer to the people you love. but something always gets in the way. It doesn't have to stay this way.
I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling in 2016, worked for a substance abuse IOP until 2021 and have since been in private practice. I specialize in substance abuse but also work with many seeking help for anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, etc.
I work with high-functioning adults who look like they have it together and are quietly running on empty—people whose competence has become the thing they hide behind. My foundation is TEAM-CBT, an evidence-based approach I'm certified in at the highest level (Level 3 Advanced) through the Feeling Good Institute, and I train regularly with the Beck Institute. It gives our work real structure and proven tools. But symptoms usually rest on something older, and that's where the deeper work happens. I work most with anxiety, perfectionism, conditional self-worth, and the depletion that hides underneath a successful life.
I work best with thoughtful, high-functioning adults who may appear ‘fine’ on the outside but feel disconnected on the inside. Many of my clients are navigating identity shifts, relationship stress, or life transitions and want to build self-trust a deeper connection with themselves.
I'm Sadie Lipman. I have over 7 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with adult clients in Virginia and Florida virtually. I would describe my therapy approach as warm, empowering, and reliable. This is therapy that is up-to-date and down-to-earth. As a therapist, I blend new‐age thinking with reliable, evidence‐based interventions.
With a strong foundation in both social work and law enforcement, I bring a compassionate, grounded, and practical perspective to therapy. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work and spent eight years in law enforcement, primarily working patrol. This experience gave me the opportunity to support individuals and families during some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives.
Through my professional work—and my own lived experiences with critical and traumatic incidents—I developed a deep commitment to helping others heal from trauma. I specialize in trauma-focused therapy and work with individuals navigating life’s challenges, processing difficult past experiences, and building resilience for the future.
My approach blends clinical expertise with real-world understanding to create a space that is supportive, nonjudgmental, and genuine. I strive to ensure clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. Whether you are working through trauma, adjusting to life transitions, or seeking healthier coping strategies, I aim to help you gain clarity, strengthen your inner resources, and move forward with confidence. I’m here to support you every step of the way on your path toward healing and personal growth.
Kayla, a licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in community mental health, recognized the profound disparities in access to mental health care within BIPOC communities. Inspired by a vision of creating a space where healing is both inclusive and affordable, she founded Helen’s Project with the belief that everyone deserves access to quality mental health support, regardless of their background or financial situation.Helen’s Project operates on the principle that culturally competent and empathetic mental health care is essential for holistic well-being. The organization collaborates with a diverse team of mental health professionals who not only possess clinical expertise but also understand the unique cultural nuances and challenges faced by the BIPOC community.
Providing therapy to individuals for over 20 years, as a Clinical Psychologist currently licensed in New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Virginia, I am also able to offer the convenience of telehealth services to individuals who work, attend school, and/or live in multiple states.
