Hi, I'm so happy you found me! I'm Roxann, owner/psychotherapist at Birch Grove Family Therapy. I have a master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Wisconsin. I also completed a predoctoral fellowship in Infant, Early Childhood, and Family Mental Health with the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Working as a Clinical Social Worker in a psychiatric inpatient hospital, and as a therapist for an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), has shown me the importance of care continuity, I offer support as you, or your loved one, transition from intensive treatment to outpatient care. I focus on maintaining progress, strengthening coping skills, and building lasting stability in everyday life.

As a parent myself, and a former Parent Educator, I also have a special passion for working with infants, young children, and families navigating early attachment, teaching emotional regulation, supporting healthy development and navigating parent-child relationship concerns.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, practicing since 2021. I have 8 years of experience working in mental health, from residential programs to outpatient. I received my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University and received my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida with over 20 years of experience in mental health. I am fully bilingual English/Spanish. I grew up in Puerto Rico and move to FL about 30 years ago. I have an intense training and experience in Trauma recovery helping victim of violence, illness or accidents. I also have long years of experience working with grief, relationship issues, mental health afflictions like depression, stress and others. I am also trained and enjoy helping neuro atypical people to develop ways of managing life that can work for them. I can work with all ages 6 and up. I have a certification as child/youth mental health specialist. I enjoy painting and encourage the use of creativity to work through emotional pain.

I graduated from UW-Stout in 2020 and had a crash course of therapy during the pandemic. This has allowed me to become a more empatheic and passionate therapist who works hard to support clients through all of life's changes. I specialize in couples and relational work, but also work with indiviudals who are looking to navigate grief, anxiety, life changes, and stress. I support and research women's health, fertility/infertility and treat perinatal mood disorders.

I work to provide you a safe, non-judgmental environment in which to work. Each of us are unique and complex. I see my job as helping you to develop tools and skills to deal with your complex life. I am able to help you in the areas of anxiety, depression, motivation, substance use concerns, self-esteem and confidence, grief/loss, and adapting to life changes, to name a few. My goal is to be approachable, accepting, and act as a guide through the process. Much of our power to be happy or unhappy depends on our ability to put our experiences in perspective and find our own path to heal.

We will focus on the strengths you have and how I can help you grow through changing self-defeating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will work together to identify your goals, what the barriers are to moving forward, and developing needed skills to navigate through or around barriers. We are all human and at times need the help from an objective party to get through our struggles and to grow stronger!
