My name is Janet VanScoyk, I studied at the University of Wyoming where I graduated with my master's in social work. Soon after I graduated, we moved to Arizona, and I have been practicing in the Gila Valley for the past 10 years.
If you tend to overthink, second-guess yourself, or feel emotionally drained by stress or relationships, you're not alone. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Together, we'll slow things down, make sense of the patterns keeping you stuck, and build practical tools to help you feel more confident in yourself and your relationships.
I also enjoy working with couples who feel caught in cycles of conflict or disconnection and want to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen their connection.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over six years of experience providing therapy and more than a decade of experience in social services. I've worked in both community mental health and outpatient settings, and my approach blends insight, curiosity, and collaboration with practical strategies you can use in everyday life. I believe therapy should help you better understand yourself while creating meaningful, lasting change.

I earned my degree in psychology, and a gap year with Jesuit Volunteer Corps in a social justice setting led me to social work. I use a systems approach, meaning I look at the personal, family, and life factors affecting your well-being. My background in foster care, crisis work, community-based care, and therapy gives me a collaborative, well-rounded perspective.
My work focuses on helping individuals through life transitions whether that be in the form of grief, trauma or overall changes happening and causing disruption to your life. I have been in the therapy world for 6 years now and prior worked in community focused organizations. I have training in trauma-informed therapy, as a death comadre, CPP, and perinatal mental health.
I am an independent therapist who works to get you you where you need and want to be in life. Most know me by Frank. Frank has been in the field of behavioral health for more than 25 years. Beginning with Independent Living Skills Training for Traumatic Brain Injured Individuals, Frank took care of individuals that had a goal of independence. Frank continued on in the field with respite care and eventually graduated from Grand Canyon University Cum Laude and Alphi Chi Honor society. Frank’s counseling journey began with Group Therapy in co-occuring addictions and proceeded to Crisis work including Title 36 and Crisis Mobile Team. Frank has experience with inpatient therapy as well. Following Clinic work and IOP, Frank, continued his work as a Clinical Supervisor.
Binge Eating Disorder, emotional eating, and food relationship healing is a cause close to my heart both professionally and personally. The adults I work with are cycle breakers but their relationship with food keeps them feeling burnt out when they want to feel self acceptance and open to new experiences.

I bring a unique perspective to my practice as a Foreign Educated Physician and Pharmacist, which enhances my ability to provide thoughtful, holistic care. My approach is rooted in the biopsychosocial model, emphasizing patient-centered strategies that consider your mind, body, and environment.
I firmly believe in the possibility of recovery. Many of my clients are inspired to discover that, with adherence to an individualized treatment plan, meaningful progress and improved quality of life are achievable.
