Coping with the loss of a loved one requires compassionate, skilled support. Headway's Montana network of 182 providers specializes in grief counseling and bereavement therapy, helping you process anticipatory grief, find meaning, and work through complicated grief with personalized care that fits your schedule.
Hello, I'm Tara Wells, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their health and well-being.
With extensive experience in primary care, psychiatry, addiction medicine, and chronic disease management, I believe in treating the whole person rather than just the diagnosis. I work collaboratively with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans that address their unique medical, emotional, and lifestyle needs.
My areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance use disorders and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), weight management, hormone optimization, and preventive health. I also provide comprehensive evaluations, medication management, and supportive counseling while emphasizing patient education and shared decision-making.
I am currently working on my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Maryville University and maintain board certification as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am committed to staying current with the latest clinical research and treatment guidelines to ensure my patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care.
Whether you're seeking support for your mental health, managing a chronic medical condition, or working toward your wellness goals, I look forward to partnering with you on your journey to better health.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or just plain tired of trying to figure everything out on your own. Maybe anxiety keeps you up at night, or depression makes it hard to find the motivation to get through your day. Perhaps ADHD has you juggling a million things at once, but nothing feels like it's getting done. Maybe you're in the midst of a big change; a new role, shifting family dynamics, or health challenges and you're not sure how to navigate it all. I want you to know that you don't have to do it alone. Life doesn't always go as planned, and sometimes it can feel overwhelming to carry. We can find a way forward together.
Welcome! Congratulations on taking your first step toward finding a therapist. Having experienced the therapeutic process myself, I understand that seeking support can be challenging and takes courage. You can do this!
After 10 years experience in counseling, I specialize in a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition, I am in the process of developing my knowledge base in Somatic Experiencing (SE) therapy. My experience with these treatment modalities allows me to tailor treatment to your unique needs and experiences.
Whether you’re a teen facing big emotions, an adult navigating life transitions, or someone carrying the weight of past trauma, I’m here to help you. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma-including those involved in the justice system and youth in foster care.
I’m Zara Hanson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping people reconnect with themselves, heal from the inside out, and show up more fully in their relationships.
My interest in mental health started early, rooted in a curiosity about human behavior and a desire to help others feel less alone in their struggles. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Research Psychology, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Social Work with a focus on both direct therapy and systems-level care. Over the years, I’ve worked across a range of settings—from community mental health to private practice—supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating complex emotional terrain.
My practice focuses on trauma, neurodivergence (including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder), substance use, mood disorders, relationship conflict, and emotional dysregulation. I’m especially drawn to working with clients who want to make sense of their story, process unresolved experiences, and find a more grounded, authentic way of being. I also work with couples to deepen connection, repair trust, and build more effective communication.
Therapy with me is relational, honest, and insight-driven. I aim to meet you exactly where you are, while gently encouraging growth, curiosity, and self-compassion along the way.
Hi, I’m glad you’re here. I have been working as a therapist for nearly 20 years and am licensed in Arizona, Montana, and Oregon. I mainly support adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and depression who are seeking a deeper connection with themselves to heal and grow. I am a Level I trained Internal Family Systems Therapist, a Certified EMDR Therapist, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Although my approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems, I remain flexible and prioritize what feels most authentic and genuine for you and your unique needs.
