I am a board certified Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals and couples and provides care for patients who struggle with interpersonal relationships, depression and anxiety. I studied at Brooklyn College, where I obtained a MA in Mental Health Counseling. I also worked in the profession for over four years, where I established my objection relations & cognitive restructuring techniques that have been a crucial part of my practice and my patients' success and progress.
I have had the privilege of working as an individual and group therapist in numerous therapeutic settings. These experiences have allowed me to utilize various treatment modalities in order to empower the individuals I work with.
I recognize that everyone’s experiences are unique and personal. My approach is tailored to fit an individual's specific needs. It is my goal to provide you with a safe and supportive environment to help you identify, explore, and address what thoughts and behaviors may be interfering with living a balanced life. Through our work together, you will learn helpful tools and insights that will provide a sense of well-being that can help you achieve your personal goals in treatment.
I aim to empower you, provide you with useful strategies for success, and ultimately assist you in gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and what may be holding you back from reaching your individualized happiness. As we work together, you'll never have to feel alone on your journey to self-improvement and personal insight.
Hello and welcome! I work with individuals and couples experiencing relationship changes and transitions. I believe relationships-both with the self and with others- are worth working on. I have been a practicing social worker for over a decade and have focused on psychotherapy for the last five years. In addition to training in social work and psychotherapy, I have a Certificate in Couple Therapy from Akerman Institute, and have completed over 60-hours of training in the Understanding Model of mediation. I have extensive training on modalities for treating anxiety, OCD, and depression.
I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2002. Having worked in healthcare and academic settings, I appreciate being part of a treatment team and am available to coordinate care with other providers when beneficial. Rather than see 'how many problems' a person may be facing... I see 'how many ways things can get better'. I value working with folks to see their puzzle from a different angle and to use tools to clarify, change and improve the picture.
I’ve been helping people for over 20 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I’m so proud of you for taking this important step toward caring for yourself. It’s not always easy, and it shows strength and courage.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, addressing a wide range of challenges. My experience includes school settings, college multicultural affairs, outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and mental health counseling.
I also spent nine years in a hospital setting, working in psychiatric emergency services and on adolescent and adult inpatient units. This gave me extensive experience in crisis intervention and in supporting people through both mild and severe mental health concerns. Today, I continue to work in outpatient mental health, helping clients navigate life’s challenges and build resilience.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we’ll work toward the changes you want to see in your life. I look forward to working with you.

Garden City is part of a larger Nassau County and Long Island mental health care market, so nearby options may include therapists in Mineola, Hempstead, Stewart Manor, and other surrounding communities. Local availability can vary, which makes virtual therapy a useful way to expand your search beyond the closest office. As you narrow your options, consider appointment times, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, session format, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Reading profiles before booking can help you understand a therapist’s communication style, clinical focus, and what to expect in a first session.
Therapy in Garden City can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before you book. Headway helps you find therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, offer in-person or virtual appointments, and are accepting new patients. You can browse therapists on Long Island, review bios, check your insurance, and book directly when you’re ready.
