I have been working with individuals, couples and families for many years. I am thought of as empathic, warm and engaging. I consider therapy to be a partnership. It is designed to work towards "your" goals, and it is my goal, to help you achieve them. I have worked with people having many different "struggles" or "transitions" in their lives. I am experienced in all areas from trauma, childhood and adult abuse, DV, anxiety, depression, sexuality, family or other relationships, along with substance use disorders/struggles. I also understand the specific challenges that come with parenting, and the issues we encounter coping with the varied neeeds of aging parents. I use many different modalities in our work. I believe that we all can benefit from having a therapist to work with, and I look forward to meeting you. While I currently reside in the Hudson Valley, I am from NYC, and do also understand the specific stressors of city life.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in New York starts with getting clear on the type of support you need. Whether you're looking for help with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or a major life transition, choosing a licensed provider who specializes in your area of concern can make a meaningful difference. Common provider types in New York include licensed mental health counselors (LMHCs), licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), psychologists, and psychiatrists — each with different training and areas of focus.
New York has one of the largest concentrations of mental health providers in the country, which can make narrowing your options feel overwhelming. Consider what matters most to you: a provider's specialty, whether they offer in-person or virtual sessions, their location relative to your neighborhood or commute, and their availability. Reading a provider's bio before booking can help you understand their style and approach so you feel more confident going in.
Therapy in New York can be expensive out of pocket, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance information to see which providers are covered and get an estimated session cost before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit depending on their plan and location.
