Great day to you! I am Kim Rodgers, LICSW (15yrs.). To complete my Master’s of Social Work Degree, I served as a school counselor for grades K-9. Since then, I have worked in Corrections, the Homeless Department and the Vet Center (within the Federal Government), in a Behavioral Health Hospital, and in Community Health. I have a great deal of “outreach work” experience, both personally and professionally.
I strive to create collaborative therapeutic relationships based on mutual trust and respect. I work with individuals to build new skills to cope with stress and uncertainty, enhance emotional awareness, and create new approaches to stuck patterns. I enjoy working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, impulsivity and compulsive behavior, self-esteem, LGBTQIA+ identity and sexuality, non-monogamy, and neurodivergence.

Others may want to focus specifically on coming out, gender identity, family dynamics, or experiences of discrimination. Providers on Headway include licensed therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists with training across a wide range of approaches and specialties.
When choosing a provider, consider what matters most to you — whether that's a therapist who shares your identity, someone with specific training in LGBTQIA-affirming care, or a provider who offers both virtual and in-person sessions in the Tacoma and Pierce County area. Reading a provider's bio on Headway can help you learn about their style, background, and the populations they work with before you reach out.
