When life feels heavy, it’s easy to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the version of yourself you want to be.
I help individuals navigate depression, anxiety, life stress, and major transitions while building confidence and clarity. I offer in-person sessions in Tennessee and telehealth for clients in both Tennessee and Alabama.
You’re capable and use to managing a lot, but lately life feels overwhelming.
I’m Ashley Walay, LICSW, and I work with BIPOC women and LGBTQ+ individuals, professionals, single parents, and military-connected individuals (including spouses, veterans, contractors, and civilian employees) experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, chronic stress, and life transitions.
I value clear, direct communication and tailor therapy to your needs, whether you want tools or space to process. Together, we’ll work toward greater clarity, balance, and confidence.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate in Social Work, and I bring both clinical expertise and real life understanding into the therapy space. My professional background includes years of direct clinical practice as well as leadership roles in complex, high stress systems, including serving as a Mental Health Director. These experiences have shaped my ability to support individuals who are navigating pressure, responsibility, and emotional overwhelm while still being expected to function at a high level.
I work best with clients who are strong on the outside but struggling internally. Many of the people I support are women, mothers, professionals, caregivers, and helpers who are used to showing up for others while neglecting their own emotional needs. I have a particular passion for working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, identity concerns, and trauma related to past or ongoing stressors.
Therapy with me is not about having all the answers. It is about learning how to trust yourself, set healthy boundaries, and show up for your life with more compassion and confidence.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 24 years of experience in the field. I work with adults, children, adolescents, couples and families. My goal is to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. My approach is warm, respectful, and interactive. I place a strong value on working with a client's culture and values.

Searching for couples therapists in Mobile starts with finding a therapist trained to work with both partners and the patterns between them. Couples therapy in Mobile, AL, may support concerns like communication challenges, conflict patterns, trust after infidelity, major life transitions, and parenting disagreements. As you compare therapists, look for listed experience with couples or marriage counseling in Mobile, AL. Licensed marriage and family therapists, or therapists trained in methods like the Gottman Method or emotionally focused therapy, may be a strong fit for relationship-focused care.
Mobile offers a solid range of local therapy options, but finding one therapist who fits both partners’ needs can take some planning. Consider whether in-person sessions near your home or workplace make sense, or whether virtual appointments help both schedules align. Appointment times, session structure, therapeutic approach, and whether a free phone consultation is offered can also help narrow the search. Reading therapist bios can show how each therapist works with couples, what concerns they list, and what the first session may involve.
Couples therapy in Mobile can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care starts. Headway helps you find therapists who offer relationship counseling in Mobile, AL and are accepting new patients. Nationally, Headway partners with a wide range of insurance plans, and you can confirm what coverage is available in Mobile on Headway. You can compare therapists, review bios, check estimated costs, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're experiencing or worried about violence, threats, or coercion in your relationship, couples therapy isn't usually the right starting point — individual support is safer. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
